Walpola Rahula Thero Sri Lankalı bir Budist rahip, bilgin ve yazardı. 1964'te Northwestern Üniversitesi'nde Tarih ve Dinler Profesörü oldu, böylece Batı dünyasında bir meslek başkanı olan ilk bhikkhu oldu. Ayrıca bir zamanlar o zamanki Vidyodaya Üniversitesi'nde Rektör Yardımcısı olarak görev yaptı.

We must admit that very often we are afraid or ashamed to
