Far from the Madding Crowd was more than a love story for me. It is about love, pride and how our choices. I enjoyed the life book and Bathsheba. Also seeing how her relationships changed over time.
I loved the countryside setting and the quiet atmosphere of the book. The story moves slowly but it fits the mood I believe. As some characters frustrated me this also made them feel more real.
Compared to Pride and Prejudice, which I enjoyed more, Hardy's novel felt more serious. It lacks Austen's lively conversations, but both books are those days' NETFLIX dramas.
Not every chapter worked for me, but the book left me a calm and beautiful sense of life. The life I really admire to have.
zoraki gerilim, göze sokulan ipuçları ve dayatmalara rağmen zar zor okudum. yazarın taş kağıt makas adlı kitabı daha orijinal ve keyifliydi. bunu hiç beğenmedim.
A book that left me in tears when I finished it. İt was beautiful and sad :)

Beautiful beautiful book. Very will written and you get lose in the interactions between napolean and his companions. Not boring like some other books. Destroys a lot of myths about napolean. War pages can be drawn out though.

Reading this felt less like a traditional narrative and more like an intimate documentary. By offering the dual perspectives of both authors, the book provides a balanced and realistic look at "cohabitation." It explores how two distinct personalities—with different habits and tastes—can create a harmonious sanctuary together.
There was a beautiful sense of familiarity in their daily struggles and triumphs, which made the reading experience feel incredibly heartwarming. It wasn't just about friendship; it was about the logistics of sharing a life, from splitting chores to managing their "maximalist vs. minimalist" conflict. For anyone who values independence but fears loneliness, this book serves as a perfect blueprint. I’d give it a solid 9/10—a refreshing, modern take on what "home" can truly mean.
