'You can do it. I know what happened, all those years ago. I know you... ran away, that time, back before I knew you.' She took a deep breath. 'Many hundreds of years ago, when I was a very different Time Lord, I talked to a young man who was scared of what he'd got himself into. And I'm going to tell you now exactly what I told him. Courage isn't a matter of not being frightened. It's being afraid and doing what you have to do anyway. Yaz, you always do what you have to do. I'm not worried about that."

"Doing the big stuff was always going to appeal to the Doctor - the grand gesture, the heroic rescue, the overthrowing of meglomaniacs. Anything else, not so much. The slow, boring, sensible course didn't appeal to her at all. But sometimes she had to grit her teeth and not be heroic. She wanted to go after the villain, but she had to get back to her friends."
