"Once we start to question what we've been taught about sex and sexuality within dominant discourse, one of the possibilities that opens up is to go further upstream and to become more aware—if we're not already—of how power and oppression operate, not just in our individual lives but also on a systemic level. If we become more present, more connected to our own aliveness and creativity, more capable of intimacy with ourselves and others, and better at consent in all aspects of our lives, we can often become more interested in changing the world. This could involve addressing those wounds of separation, disconnect, dissociation, and violence at their sources, including colonialism, racism, anti-Blackness, classism, ableism, and patriarchy. If our own bodies, other people's bodies, and the body of the Earth are no longer non-consensually treated as commodities, our politics often cannot help but change."
