When I learned that Tolkien wrote Roverandom for his young son, I was really impressed. The boy lost his toy dog, so Tolkien wrote this story. Amazing! The book is full of simple and happy magic.
The story is about a little dog that is a little bit bad. A wizard makes the dog very small. The dog then goes on big trips! He travels to the Moon and then under the ocean.
This book is fast and very easy to read. It is much lighter than his big books. If you like simple stories with wizards and magic, this book is perfect. And of course, kids will love it.
