O kadar çok karakter var ki, önce karakterleri çözmeye çalışıyorsunuz. Sonra her şey bir anda oldu bittiye geliyor. Sevdim mi sevmedim mi anlayamadım.
Merak ettiğim karakterlere kitapta daha az yer verilmiş. 9 kişilik dev kadronun hep birlikte takılacağını sanmıştım ama 2 farklı gruplara ayrıldılar :D Bu da beni daha fazla meraklandırdı birleşecekler mi diye, şu anda asla öyle bir ima yok ama bakalım :)
Sadece 1 karakter henüz gruplara katılmadı ve hangi gruba dahil olacağını gerçekten merak ediyorum. Ne kadar çok merak kelimesi kullandım değil mi :D

stephen king yine bir şeyleri abartmadan duramamis, korku seansı ve hell house llc harmanlanmis. ( evet biliyorum 1970 yapimi, nihenk tasi, öncü kitaplardan evet,evet.)

Kitabı bir solukta okudum. Lütfen kitabın 1971 yılında yazıldığını unutmayalım. Zamanına göre en iyi perili ev romanı olarak bilinmektedir. Diğer yorumcu arkadaşlarımın aksine ben kitaba bayıldım. Okuyan pişman olmaz. Vincent Price filmlerini bilenler bilir; Bu kitabın atmosferi aynen o filmlerdeki gibi. Matheson aynı zamanda senaristtir. Onlarca meşhur filmin senaryosunu yazmıştır (Listeye göz atınız: imdb.com/name/nm0558577
Vincent Price birçok filminde başrol oynamıştır zaten, mesela 1954 yılında ''I am Legend''te. (''The Last Man on Earth'' adı altında çekilmiştir). Birçoğunuz 2007 yılında Will Smith ile çekilen uyarlamasını daha iyi bilir.
Ayrıca Stephen King'in gençliğinde en sevdiği yazardır Richard Matheson ve ona ''Cep'' romanını adamıştır. Bu kitap için ''Okuduğum en korkunç lanetli ev romanı'' demiştir. Aynı şekilde yazar Anne Rice'da büyük bir Matheson hayranıdır.
Bu kitabın film uyarlamasını 1973 yapımı ''The Legend of Hell House'' yani ''Cehennem Evi Efsanesi'' adı altında çekilmiştir.
Matheson'un diğer meşhur film uyarlaması ''Aşkın Gücü'' başrol Robin Williams ile 1998 yılında çekilmiş ve 1999 yılında 2 Oscar almıştır.

The book begins with an introduction, stating that Edward Prendrick wants to explain his uncle's notes. Then we read the notes from his mouth. He remains alone as a result of the sinking of the ship on which he is traveling and after other two sailors in evacuation boat fighting and falling into the water. A ship that saves Prendrick, who runs out of hopes is on the island of Dr Moreau. The animals on the ship and a person having strange-looking catch Prendrick's attention. Everything gets even stranger as he reaches the island and meets Dr Moreau. As we read the story, we realize that this is not just a story of a professor who does strange experiments on a desert island. These events, that we see through Prendrick's eyes are actually a story that symbolizes the issues of god-man, nature-civilization by using different figurines. From time to time we will witness the ideas of animal people who show the ideas of human beings about God.
Dr Moreau is completely different as appearance than anyone else on the island. As Prendrick says, he has a face he has never seen before. Just as God with a unique look should be. Dr Moreau, as a God did not create them because of a need. He did it because he was curious as he said in the section that he explained to Prendrick. The interest is entirely a curiosity arising from the wish of God to see the boundaries of his own power. And due to the fact that he wants to show his might to someone, god creates animal people. In the heavenly religions, it is believed that God does not need servant hood by human beings. However, God have to draw some limits to prevent people from moving away from him, so that he can continue to being God. We see that the animal people are afraid of Dr Moreau. Thus, we can

I picked up this book because I wanted to get some perspective, but I feel changed after reading this book. So complex, so painful, so painfully beautiful, such life in the telling of this story, It grips at your heart, and somehow you can feel the pain. It makes you shudder to think of how evil and cruel humanity can be. People were worse than animals in their treatment of so many people of this era. The chain gang was a terrible way to make people live. It shows how power in the hands of the wrong people can bring about a hell on earth. We might not be able to believe these things could really happen, that man was capable of such things were it not for the proof that we have in so much of history.
The story is based on a real case, on in which Margaret Garner (remembered in this book as the family name given to the less horrendous slave owners) killed her children for the same reason in 1856, Ohio. Sethe and her daughter Denver live in a house on 124 Bluestone Road. Once a lively place where freed slaves congregated after Emancipation to get news and socialize, it’s now desolate and creepy, haunted by the spiteful ghost of Sethe’s dead two-year-old child. The matriarch Baby Suggs (Sethe’s mother-in-law) is now dead, and Sethe’s two sons have fled the premises.
