"Imagine a person who, blessed with good health, excellent reflexes, and a fine intellect, rates 90 points on the ability scale. Now suppose that talented person fails to put in any real effort because she has too much confidence in her own intelligence, athleticism, and health, resulting in an effort rating of just 30 points.
