The short story is about a woman who wants to give birth to a child that has inherited her memories. It's like giving birth to yourself but it's actually giving birth to a child who has your memories. The author talks about the idea of inheriting memories and whether they are the things that make humans human. There is a nice plot twist at the end so I don't want to spoil it for you. I quite enjoyed the story. There is not much narration instead it's made of dialogues. I think it is an interesting idea that Liu Cixin touches upon. Are your memories the reason you are you? also if you could give your memories to a child, would you? are some of the questions that the author asks and expects you to answer. A very short story and I'd suggest you give it a go.
