In his brilliant and incisive style, Le Corbusier examines the architecture and people of New York. He loves the people but finds the architecture haphazard and in need of planning. Through provocative prose and revealing drawings, he proposes a new, beautiful, vertical New York.

Such a nice trip! It was the first book that i read about architecture and i really enjoyed it. Despite i don't know architecture i could understand and i owe to the fact that it is written in pure language. While the skyscrapers were what I liked the most about America, and perhaps the only thing, Corbusier's description of them made me love it even more. His criticisms that he occasionally gave with the metaphor of "When the Cathedrals were white" were simply enormous. There are a lot of clever, brave and justified criticisms in the book. It was a nice detail that he did not ignore everything else while praising American architecture. I read the whole book with jazz music and it really took me there. I really liked.
