As in the previous book, Tris and her friends learn that there is life behind the fence as a result of a woman's message. Then Tris begins a long adventure with her friends to find answers to her questions behind the fence. Their lives there are sometimes beautiful and sometimes they are full of exams that test themselves with difficulties. During this time, Tris and Tobias keep their love for each other superior to themselves, regardless of these exams. However, after a while, they realize that the people here are not as good as they thought, and the place that is really exciting and compares you to surprises begins after that.

The events that started in the first book continue with all the excitement and adrenaline in this book. There is a secret hidden among groups separated by their characters, and at the expense of learning this secret, the brave unity with the uncommon and wage war on the wisdom group. Things are complicated between Tris and Tobias.
After learning that they are ‘incompatible’ in the first book, Tris, Tobias and their friends, who escaped and get on the train, stay for a while in the friendship community, but the Bravery soldiers and the Wisdom Community manage to find them. They hurriedly escape from there and return to the Courage community to learn the plans of the Wisdom Community, but there is a looonger road ahead.
