This is the romantic story of Imogen and Panos in a beautiful Greek island, Corfu. I read the writer for the first time. And what attracted me the most was the lovely cover It’s become a great choice for #bitutamyaz @bitutamokur !
⛱Imogen and her brother Harry come to Corfu because Harry has bought a restaurant there. Harry is thrilled about the restaurant but Imogen is afraid that this is another side effect of Harry’s depression and seperation from his wife and children. Imogen comes to Corfu just to persuade him to give up. There, she meets Panos Dimitrou, a very attractive millionaire who wants to buy the restaurant back because it belongs to his family. But his true intention is to buy all the restaurants on the beach and demolish them. His grandmother Elpida tries to change his vision of life, but Panos’ feelings of the past prevents him seeing the natural and traditional beauty of their island. But with the help of this beautiul Englishwoman Imogen, he begins to change. Imogen also begins to love the restaurant and Corfu island becomes her new home with an unexpected love waiting for her.
⛱What I liked the most about this book is the setting: the turquois water, the silky sands, the flowers and the green scenery. They reminded me of my home country’s beautiful beaches and sceneries. The food culture is also very similar to ours like baklava, musakka. I just wish I could feel the love between the characters more. Their development as characters were successfull. I loved the change of Panos: from an ambitious, success-oriented, loveless man to the man who cares, loves and understands the importance of tradition, love, family. I could say that I loved the family aspect of the book much more than the romantic parts. Panos’ grandmother Elpida became my favourite character It was a nice, summer read which makes you wish you go to holiday on a sandy beach and also hungry for all the food and desserts in the book
