Maybe I liked it when I first read it, but this time I found many flaws. I don't want to give spoilers for those who still don't know, but halfway through this book, the course of events changes significantly. However, that big twist was not well-prepared at all. Firstly, it was strange that everything was part of Light's plan. It's true that he's very smart, but it wasn't convincing that he could predict L's actions so precisely. Secondly, there was no indication of him thinking or preparing so much. Suddenly, he just said it was all his plan and explained what he did for pages. Because of this, the twist lost its impact for me. If I remember correctly, there were extra scenes between Light and L in the anime that weren't in the manga. Such things could have made it better. Additionally, the sudden time jump of 4-5 years was odd. I wasn't satisfied with this point when I first read the manga or watched the anime. We'll see as I continue; there were still some parts I didn't remember in this volume.
