Robin Hobb, Margaret Astrid Lindholm Ogden isimli roman yazarının ikinci takma ismidir. 1952 yılında Kaliforniya'da doğan Robin Hobb, başlıca fantastik kurgu tarzında yazmasının yanında bilim kurgu tarzında yayınları bulunmaktadır.
1983 ila 1992 yılları arasında Megan Lindholm takman adıyla yazmıştır. Bu takma isimle azmış olduğu kitapları daha çok çağdaş fantastik kurgu tarzındadır. 1995'de, Robin Hobb takma adı ile yazmaya başladığı kitaplar ise epik geleneksel Ortaçağ Avrupa fantezisi tarzındadır. Şu anda her iki takma isimle de yazmaya devam etmekte ve Tacoma, Washington'da yaşamaktadır. 2003 itibarıyla Robin Hobb adıyla çıkartmış olduğu ilk dokuz kitabının satışları 1 milyonu geçmiştir
