I had already read The Adventures of Tom Sawyer before, and Huckleberry Finn was one of the characters in that book. Because of that, I became curious about him and wanted to read Adventures of Huckleberry Finn as well.
After I started reading, I realized that I really enjoyed the humorous style of the book. The language and the dialogues made the story more interesting and enjoyable for me.
Adventures of Huckleberry Finn was published in 1884 and is considered one of the major works of American Realism. Unlike Romantic literature, Twain focuses on ordinary people, realistic language, and social problems. Through Huck’s journey, the novel reflects important issues of 19th-century American society such as racism, slavery, violence, religious hypocrisy, and social inequality. Twain also satirizes romantic adventure stories, especially through the character of Tom Sawyer.
The novel follows Huck Finn, a young boy who escapes from his abusive father and travels along the Mississippi River with Jim, an escaped enslaved man. During their journey, they meet many different people and experience both humorous and serious situations. Through these adventures, Huck begins to question society’s values, racism, religion, and morality.
Huck also starts to test the religious teachings of Miss Watson and Widow Douglas. He does not fully accept everything that society and religion teach him, and throughout the novel he tries to understand what is morally right by himself.
Mark Twain mainly criticizes romanticism and unrealistic adventure stories. Tom tries to behave like the characters in books, while Huck thinks more realistically and questions these ideas. Ben biliyordum başıma gelecekleri Pepper Winters okumaya ara vermek zordur sonrasında kitaplarına dönünce vurgun yemişe dönersiniz. Kadın karanlık ilişkilerden sonra resmen ters köşe yapmış. Bir kez daha anlatımına hayran kaldım. Okuyucuya hissettirmek isteği şeyleri iliklerime kadar hissettim.
2000' li yıllar. Ren. On yaşında bir çocuğun anıları ne kadar acı olabilir? Eşya gibi alınıp satılan bir çocuk. Sonunda türlü türlü eziyet çektiği yerden bir sırt çantasıyla kaçmayı başarıyor. Günler süren amansız takip davetsiz bir misafirin çantasından çıkmasıyla sekteye uğruyor. Della daha bir yaşındayken bilinmezliğe doğru sürükleniyor. Ormanda geçen uzun yürüyüşler, Kış gelince sığınacak yer aramaları. Boş bir çiftlik bulup oraya sığınmaları ve maceralara atılmaları.
Ren' in anlatımıyla 2000 yılından günümüze doğru yolculuğa çıkarken. Della' nın anlatımıyla günümüzde yaşadıklarını görüyoruz.

Amazing book for people interested in Indian religions and enlightenment. The novel is structured on three of the traditional stages of life for Hindu males (student (brahmacharin), householder (grihastha) and recluse/renunciate (vanaprastha)) as well as the Buddha's four noble truths (Part One) and eight-fold path (Part Two) which form twelve chapters, the number in the novel.
Siddhartha is a novel by Hermann Hesse that deals with the spiritual journey of self-discovery of a man named Siddhartha during the time of the Gautama Buddha. The word Siddhartha is made up of two words in Sanskrit language, siddha (achieved) + artha (what was searched for), which together means "he who has found meaning (of existence)" or "he who has attained his goals". In fact, the Buddha's own name, before his renunciation, was Siddhartha Gautama, Prince of Kapilavastu. In this book, the Buddha is referred to as "Gotama"
Actually, I've read this book thinking the main character was Buddha. But it's not.
"He argues that the individual seeks an absolutely unique, personal meaning that cannot be presented to him by a teacher." he doesn't join Buddha, but his best friend Govinda does.
It's basically about a man going away from his family, from his Brahman father, and is trying to understand the meaning of life, who is trying to become enlightened to escape Samsara (the concept of rebirth and "cyclicality of all life, matter, existence", a fundamental belief of most Indian religions.
