"Hayatında belirli bir düzeni ne kadar korumaya çalışırsan çalış, kendini yanlışlara, kusurlara karşı ne kadar korumak istersen iste, her zaman gözden kaçıracağın bir leke, bir hata olacaktır. Seni hep bir sürpriz bekleyecektir."

I thought I would be disappointed by the last book but I actually really enjoyed it. Though I expected a big battle between them for the throne, they called for a parley, and surrendered when Jude cut off the head of the serpent. I wanted more blood, rage and suffering for betrayers but only Cardan seemed to suffer in that serpent thing.
There was more of Cardan and Jude together in this book and I loved those scenes but it still not enough. I wanted them to have more conversations about just them.
Overall, although I wished for more depth in certain areas, it's still a captivating end to an engaging series.

“It’s you I love,” he says. “I spent much of my life guarding my heart. I guarded it so well that I could behave as though I didn’t have one at all. Even now, it is a shabby, worm-eaten, and scabrous thing. But it is yours.”
"I’m so tired of playing nice, of smiling as people walk over me. What I’m realizing is that if you’re quiet about the things that hurt you, people are only going to mistake your tolerance for permission."
