"Grief is the price we pay for love." The author is a songwriter and singer of Japanese Breakfast. She even wrote a song called Nobody Sees Me Like You Do for her mother. After reading this book, you should definitely listen to it. This was my first biographical book. I've never read any biography before. Everything in this book was so raw that it sometimes brought tears to my eyes. The loneliness, being an only Asian-American at school, the cultural differences between her mother and father, every emotion, every grief, every chapter, everything... I felt every one of them to my bones. "Mommy is the only one who tells you the truth because mommy is the only one who truly loves you." "Always save ten percent of yourself. No matter how much you thought you loved someone or thought they loved you, you'll never give all of yourself. Save ten percent always. So, there was something to fall back on." "Save your tears when your mother dies." "You're what you eat."

5/5 Stars (%89/100) I quickly read the English version when it was first released, and now, almost a year and a half later, the book is available in Turkish. Since I had read and loved the book before, reading it again was easy for me, but I also caught a few details I had missed the first time. Having read the original, I had the chance to evaluate the Turkish translation, which turned out to be quite successful. The illustrations by Alan Lee in the book are also magnificent. Structurally, the book is similar to Beren and Lúthien. You get to see the story of the Fall of Gondolin several times within the book. Christopher Tolkien included all the different versions of the story, from the earliest to the latest. You can see the old version of the text, the version in The Sketch of the Mythology, the version in Quenta Noldorinwa, and the final version. I particularly enjoyed seeing the differences between the earliest and latest versions of the story. It's interesting to see how many names Tolkien changed over time. The descriptions are fantastic, and the story and characters are highly engaging. I've always loved Gondolin and its Elves in The Silmarillion and Unfinished Tales. I'm especially fascinated by Turgon, the city's founder, and the part they played in the Nirnaeth Arnoediad, the Battle of Unnumbered Tears. In short, this is a beautiful book that no Tolkien fan should miss.

4/5 Stars (%80/100) When it was released in June 2017, I somehow found the English version and read it. I was thrilled to see a new book by Tolkien, even after all these years since his passing. "Beren and Lúthien" is a story I love almost as much as the tale of the Children of Húrin in The Silmarillion and Unfinished Tales. It's a legendary love story, inspired by Tolkien's own life and his wife. Since the book was almost entirely edited by Christopher Tolkien, there are many notes throughout. I highly recommend reading all of them, including the foreword. You learn a lot about The Silmarillion and Tolkien's early writings. The book provides answers to many questions, such as what changes were made before the story of Beren and Lúthien reached its final form, and which names and characters Tolkien initially used before making alterations. There is also a great deal of information on the Lay of Leithian. The illustrations in the book are quite beautiful and add an extra layer of depth to it. This is definitely a must-read for Tolkien fans. However, I strongly recommend reading The Silmarillion first, followed by Unfinished Tales. The only thing that disappointed me was that the book wasn't released in a hardcover edition, which I had been eagerly waiting for more than two years. Hopefully, they'll release The Fall of Gondolin in hardcover.

Stefan Zweig-Chess Undoubtedly Stefan Zweig is one of the writers who reflects human emotions and handles them deeply. I can say that after reading Metamorphosis (I mentioned it to everyone and made a review of ), I couldn’t escape from its influence, and cannot still. It mentioned the value of human beings. It emphasized Gregor himself. Franz Kafka depicted the protagonist, Gregor as a ghost to reveal whether Gregor thinks of himself or considers what people say. Similarly, Chess succeeded in being one of my priorities with an emphasis on humans and his struggle to be healthy. What I mean by the word ‘healthy’? Okay. I want to ask a question to you. Do passions keep a person alive? Can they make a person mad as well? I will try to guess what your answer is. What if passions encourage a person to span a good life, can passions cause to the point he will suffer as well? That is what Zweig emphasizes. Zweig deals with Dr. B. in the book to show how strong and intelligent he is in the middle of nowhere, on the verge of insanity… Is it possible for a person to be mad and lose functions of the brain stemming from solidity and speechlessness? Maybe if he couldn’t find the chess book in the pocket of the guard, despair and loneliness would bring about madness! ---“Was that chess or madness in the cell?!” I think that there would not be any problem if the passion did not turn to jeopardy, and they do not symbolize the worst moments. The reason he is still smart and makes proper sentences in this isolated life is chess. He continuously studied it. He contemplated the chess board in his mind without real tools. He solved its rules and how to play on his own. And this passion went on in that way. He was imprisoned by the Nazis who has pressure on Austria to get important

I've said it before and I'll say it again, I don't understand why people fall madly in love in a week. Yes, I know you feel it when you meet the person who is for you, I believe that, but it's really getting boring. I don't know... You can call me old-fashioned, I may be wrong because I've never been in love. It's just, uh... Love is so complicated. Even if you feel that person, it's not for me to experience everything at once, I think it's better to unite slowly, savoring it. Anyway, as a result, the characters were nice, the story was short but ordinary.
