The government’s share in educational funding has decreased gradually, while household’s share has increased. Between 2002 and 2011, parents’ annual spending on education for their children in primary school increased four times. Among the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) countries, Turkey spends the least amount per student.
