'If you'd asked me that three hours ago, I'd have said that I didn't even like you. And now, when ... when you look at me, my legs go weak. It's never happened to me before . .. and . . . and I'd do anything for you..’
I walked through darkness. On and on I walked. I knew that no destination awaited me. I was aware that is was meaningless. Yet despite that, I could not bring myself to give up. Some piece of me still vaguely remembered what it was like to be human. What I saw. What I heard. The weight of my own limbs. My own thoughts. I wasn't wholly certain any of it was real. Desperate to cling to myself, nebulous as that concept was. I retraced an outline I wasn't even certain was correct, over and over again. It felt as if the moment I stopped, I would cease to exist. I was... helpless. I was afraid. You were like the light of a flickering candle flame. Too faint to illuminate the path ahead. You were so small, so slight and fragile. A breath could have extinguished you. And yet... you were all that I needed, and more. I hope... that you will live your life without knowing this darkness. If such a thing as luck exists, may your path lead you to light. And, most of all... Hm? What was I about to say? It's slipped my mind. Oh well.

3/5 Stars (%65/100) Better than the previous one but still not great. Asa and Denji's interaction was good and I'm curious about their relationship. However, I'm kind of annoyed at Denji. After everything that's happened, he is still childish and thinks about girls. So, he might really be a devil more than a human (like Power who was childish and had silly goals). The whole thing with Yuko caught me off-guard. It was a good volume but I'm honestly reading it because I'm too invested.

Doktor Moreau'nun Adası
Merhaba.

There was red lipstick on the cigarette
She showed it to Rick. 'A woman's been here,' she said. 'What's happening, Rick? Who is she?' 'A woman ghost that smokes Marlboro cigarettes,' he said. 'It isn't funny, Rick,' she said. She went to the door. 'I'm going out for a walk. Don't come with me. I want to think.'

So close, so close Yet so far away (so far) I don't know (I don't) How to be solo So don't go, oh, no, just stay You and I were bright, shooting through the sky daily Lighting up the night, wasn't always right, baby Yeah, every time that we realised it's crazy And you save me We were too close to the stars I never knew somebody like you, somebody Falling just as hard I'd rather lose somebody than use somebody Maybe it's a blessing in disguise (I sold my soul for you) I see my reflection in your eyes (I sold my soul for you, I know you see it too)

4/5 Stars (%83/100) Since I planned to use the book for my thesis, the most important thing for me was its usefulness. Indeed, I found most of the chapters in the book useful and relevant to my argument, especially regarding American Gods and Anansi Boys. However, this is a very long book compared to other anthologies about Gaiman. This is why I felt lost from time to time and would have preferred if some parts were shorter. Also, there were some chapters that were not useful to me. Overall, I liked the book and would recommend it to people who plan to study or research Gaiman. There are, arguably, better books to be familiar with Gaiman's style and works. This one is not for everyone.

4/5 Stars (%82/100) As someone who is familiar with Zelazny's style, I quite enjoyed this book as well. Jack of Shadows presents a world which is half light (science-based and pretty similar to our world) and half dark (magic-based meaning it is closer to fantasy). In this world, there is a being called Jack of Shadows and often called Shadowjack as well. Jack has a unique power that makes him extremely powerful in shadowy places, and weak in absolute darkness and in light. Jack is wrongly executed and he starts his journey towards revenge. However, not everything is going to go according to his plan. I absolutely loved Jack as the protagonist because he is not the kind of a protagonist we, as the reader, are accustomed to see. He is morally gray, and often evil and despite being extremely strong, he has human-like qualities, like emotions. Throughout his journey, Jack's character changes and it was great to see how this man transformed from a villain, or an anti-hero to a hero. He is very well-written and reminds me of Sam from Lord of Light. I also loved the character of Morningstar even though he appears very rarely in the book. I loved the fact that world was split into two and how it is a great symbol for Jack's character and journey. I don't want to spoil it for you but you should definitely check it out. Since this is Zelazny, his writing style might be a bit challenging at first. However, when you get through some parts, it is absolutely genius.
