Since I genuinely enjoyed reading The Great Gatsby and felt the elements of the American Dream deeply woven between its lines, I wanted my first review to be about this novel. The language is simple yet powerful, which makes the story flow effortlessly and makes it very hard to put the book down. This was a reading experience I truly enjoyed. At times, I felt deeply saddened by Gatsby’s quiet loneliness hidden within his glamorous life, and I was very happy to see his friendship with Nick develop slowly and warmly, almost like a flower blooming. Even though Daisy’s actions towards the end frustrated me quite a bit, I still found it difficult to hate her. I think she is a very realistic character who reflects the challenges of being a woman in that era. Through Daisy, Fitzgerald quietly but effectively portrays the element of opportunism within the American Dream. At first, Myrtle Wilson seems like the typical character who represents this idea. However, by the end of the novel, Daisy Buchanan, who initially appears innocent and kind, chooses the path that benefits her the most. This shows that she is not simply a passive female character, but rather a dynamic and complex opportunist. Still, I felt truly sorry for Gatsby and his love. Seeing a man who was willing to risk everything for his dream end up betrayed like this was heartbreaking. The fact that his death was just as quiet and unnoticed as the loneliness he lived with made it even more tragic. Gatsby, who constantly symbolizes ambition and growth, dies in what could be seen as a tragic failure, making his story feel tragically similar to the fate of the American Dream itself.

This review may contain spoilers. In The Midnight Library by Matt Haig, Nora Seed is the main character, a woman overwhelmed by regret and convinced that her life has little value. After attempting to end her life, she finds herself in a mysterious library that exists between life and death. There, Nora meets Mrs. Elm, her former school librarian, who explains that each book represents a different life Nora could have lived if she had made different choices. Guided through these alternate lives, Nora experiences the realities of paths she once regretted not taking. As she lives out these possibilities, Nora realizes that no single version of her life guarantees happiness or fulfillment. Even the lives she once idealized contain struggle and disappointment. Through this journey, she begins to understand the importance of accepting imperfection and appreciating life as it is. The Midnight Library is a captivating and thought-provoking novel that keeps the reader engaged throughout. It offers a moving reflection on regret, mental health, and the value of living, making it both relatable and impactful.

A Song of Ice and Fire Gripping stories from the lands where summers and years and winters can lead a human life... Another perfect work where excitement, action, tragedy has peaked and hosted horror events... The previous books of the series; Feast of Crows - Part 1 and * Feast of Crows - Part 2 Complaining that the real heroes had never passed and I was doing them too. But e Dance of Dragons - Too much space for the main heroes in the book Part 1 Gives. He is the main characters, Jon Snow, Tyrion Lannister, Khaleei and several new supporting characters. Such events have developed, I can say that the cards are redistributed on the table. Without keeping the review too long, I will move on to the last book of the series, Dance of Dragons - Part 2, which currently exists. I wish you a pleasant reading.

It’s been a long time since I shared a book review, so today I’d like to talk about one I recently read: "Father Sergius" by Leo Tolstoy. The book tells the story of Stepan Kasatsky, a young, handsome knyaz (prince) and successful military officer who stood out from his peers thanks to his extraordinary talents and loyalty to the emperor. He was deeply in love with a beautiful young woman, Freyline. However, when he discovered her previous relationship with the emperor, he was devastated. This shocking revelation led him to renounce worldly vanities and withdraw to a monastery, where he became a monk. This is where the true story begins. As a monk, Stepan (now Father Sergius) faced a constant inner struggle battling between his devotion to God and his lingering desires for earthly pleasures. Though he outwardly lived a religious life, inwardly he still longed for recognition and worldly comfort. His encounter with Praskovya Mikhaylovna became a turning point. Through her, he realized that true peace cannot be found in external circumstances or rigid rituals, but only by transforming one’s inner self. In the end, he abandoned his monastic life and chose a humble path as a gardener and teacher. It was in this simplicity that he finally discovered genuine peace. To sum up, Father Sergius teaches us that changing our surroundings alone cannot bring us inner peace. Real peace requires patience, commitment, determination, and most importantly a deep faith within ourselves.

(En azından benim açımdan) Review in English: I have to confess that I found it a bit of an overwhelming book for me. The main subject being the meaning of life is pretty inviting but this content being repetitive in the book makes the reader want to just drop the book and start watching cartoons to gain some energy. (At least from my perspective)
