Rutger Bregman’s book Humankind is one of the books that questions negative ideas about human nature and makes readers think. For many years, many people believed that humans are naturally selfish, bad, and only care about themselves. However, Bregman does not agree with this idea. According to him, human nature is not as dark as people think. Instead, people are more willing to help each other, understand others’ feelings, and do good things. In the book, the author supports these ideas with many examples from wars, psychology experiments, history, and biology. One of the best parts of the book is that it gives hope about humanity. Still, when I finished the book, I did not only feel admiration. On one side, I was happy to read it because it made me think differently. On the other side, some of the author’s ideas felt too optimistic to me. Because of this, the book was both interesting and questionable for me. One of the strongest parts of the book is that it makes people question ideas about human nature that many accept without thinking. Today, we often see violence, murder, wars, and fights on television, social media, and in the news. After some time, people start to believe that the world is full of bad people. At this point, Bregman asks an important question: If humans were really bad by nature, how could societies survive for so many years? A big part of human history was shaped by helping each other, working together, and surviving together. From this side, the writer’s ideas are important and meaningful. His ideas against the belief that humans are naturally wild are especially interesting. Today, when someone behaves badly, people sometimes say, “Did you grow up in a cave?” However, Bregman says that hunter-gatherer societies were not as violent as many

There is actually nothing to say about the book, as it doesn’t have any engaging passages or a real plot. We are reading paragraphs about two friends who don’t have any emotional connection with each other but who are only attracted to one another sexually. I mean, normal people have feelings, daily routines, and sometimes interesting dialogues, but these two have absolutely nothing in common, neither daily routines nor any interesting actions happening in their lives. I chose this book because of its simplicity; it was a good choice for my language level, but there was nothing interesting or appealing in terms of the story or the characters. It’s good to see new writers doing interesting things, and even if I’m a bit distant from the bestseller shelves or new writers, I’d like to give this book a chance and maybe break my prejudices. Unfortunately, I didn’t like the book and saw it as a waste of time. Saying that makes me a bit sad because Sally Rooney seems to be a courageous person who raises social awareness about what is happening around the world. I’ll still keep my distance from her books, but I hope that won’t last forever.

I don't really know what to say about the book People We Meet on Vacation. It felt a bit cliché to me — well, not completely cliché, but after a certain point, it was pretty obvious what was going to happen. It wasn’t boring though; I listened to it with curiosity, and it was nice to listen to. I finished it in one day. This was the first time I read a book by this author, and it seems that people either really like or really dislike her books. Will I read another one of her books? Yes, but I can't say that I loved this one. Especially the female character — I didn’t really understand her, maybe that's why. Actually, I’d say I just couldn’t connect with the characters. But overall, it’s a readable book.

While I was reading the book I asked myself "What am I reading?" But then I realised that this an absurd comedy After that view I really enjoyed the dialogues in the play There are two main characters which are friends and all the play is around them. They wait near a tree for a man named Godot. They do not know when he will come, but they believe he will arrive soon. While waiting, they talk, joke, and argue. A boy comes and says, "Godot will not come today, but he will come tomorrow." This happens every day, but Godot never comes. I don't understand what the theme is but the play is about waiting and doing nothing. The thing is the story also shows friendship. Vladimir and Estragon argue, but I think they stay together because they are afraid to be alone. Maybe another theme might be about life, in which I don't agree, that is trying to say life has no meaning. The characters do not know why they wait, just like people do not always know their purpose in life. The play is funny but also sad. It makes people think about time, waiting, and life’s meaning.

the fact that i didn't hate this makes me think. and i wrote a small essay on the queer story for personal reasons. here it is (spoilers ahead): There's a story in here about a gay man who commits a murder with his lover and the upbringing of this entire plotline is so interesting that I will try to break it down. Ahmet Ümit is not at all interested in describing his characters with many details. But when Başkomser Nevzat is introduced to this young man, Yusuf, he mentions his black mustache and burning hazel eyes; before describing him as "a man so beautiful that even the most innocent of women would be tempted by the sight of him." It feels already weird enough that his main character -a masculine, macho type cop guy who solves murder mysteries- describes an another man's beauty in such delicate details. Even Ali, Başkomser Nevzat's assistant who is also a macho guy that puts in extra effort to look tough (because he's young and still learning), also calls Yusuf "quite handsome" at some point. Now you might find yourself thinking, "Hm... There might be something queer going on in here." Because that's exactly what Ahmet Ümit wants you to think. But why? Why does this supposed to make you feel like this story is about to take a fishy, not-so-straight turn? When Ali brings up Yusuf's good-looking nature, it's for a reason. Unlike Başkomser Nevzat who had described him as a beautiful man at the beginning to state a fact; Ali isn't there to state facts, Ali is there to make a point. As they were interrogating the town-folk, Ali asks a man if there were any women who had tried to seduce Yusuf; because Yusuf's so handsome and all that. [Since this guy is incredibly hot, women must throw themselves at him—Ahmet Ümit's trying to say. (In these particular stories; we

Now let's talk about this book, the outside of the book is black, the book itself is dark, there is a devil, a witch, magic, dark forces, blood, dark romance, so why did I suffer while reading this book!!! Normally I should have fallen in love with such a book but I didn't like it at all. I tried to read this book three times and I stopped all of them. The first time my English was not enough, the second time the book did not attract me, the third time I forgot that I was reading it and started another book because the book did not attract me again. I finally finished it on the fourth reading! The reason I insisted on finishing it was because it was just for me... But it wasn't, I don't know, my blood started to tingle (not in a good way) while reading the book. Maybe I got bored because of the author's writing style , I don't know... The book was a series of three, actually the topics are good, but as I said, I suffered while reading the first one, so I don't think I will read the others.
