Regular readers of Vladimir Nabokov are aware that his books are full of what I call “verbal acrobatics” as he is one of the few non-native English speakers who have mastered the language and can use it at a very high-level. He’s not only building exquisite plots but he also sets up lots of puzzles, challenges and games for the readers in his books.
However, Pale Fire goes to the very extreme in this aspect, since the whole book is an elaborate puzzle, to be solved by the reader and after more than 60 years since the book was first published, not all puzzles have been solved.
Structurally, it is an interesting book. There is a Foreword written by a Charles Kinbote, allegedly a visiting professor from the faraway country of Zembla, narrating how he came by with publishing a poem of 999 lines by the esteemed scholar John Shade, recently deceased.
The poem is fully included in the text, followed by around 180 pages of commentary and the book ends with extensive footnotes.
When you start reading the Foreword by Kinbote, the text steers you towards an implication that Charles Kinbote is actually the exiled King of Zembla. However, as you continue reading the text, something strange happens. It all depends on how you read the book. To understand what I really mean here, we have to visit one of the most enlightening books in this topic, namely Nabokov’s Pale Fire: The Magic of Artistic Discovery by Brian Boyd.
There are lots of academic papers about Pale Fire, but the book I mention here provides one of the most robust and extensive explanations of the book. Brian Boyd shows that there are various ways to read the book.
One can read the book sequentially, namely can read the Foreword, the Poem, the commentary and the footnotes in the order they are printed in the book.

As a huge Gaiman fan, I am consuming every book that is written by/about him. I haven't heard of this audiobook and it was a nice surprise for me. It is about an astronaut who wakes up, not remembering anything, and tries to make sense of what is going on. He discovers his own identity as the famous novelist Neil Gaiman. I don't want to spoil it too much but it was really good. I liked the postmodern elements as well as Gaiman's brilliant voice acting. The ending was quite nice too. It is also pretty short (30+ minutes) and I'm sure you wouldn't get bored.

Personality is a set of characteristics that the individual has and distinguishes the individual from others. In psychology, personality has been studied from many aspects and theories have been established on this subject. Sigmund Freud that forms the basis of all theories has been studied over the concepts of id, ego and superego that affect the behavior and preferences of the person. Carl Gustav Jung, a student of Freud, began to oppose Freud's views in later stages, often rejecting Freud's views. Today the purpose of this paper is to express the character of Henry Fleming, the main character of The Red Badge of Courage written by Stephen Crane, in the light of archetypes that display Jung's basic human behavior.
To achieve this goal, I have organized my paper into two sections. In the first section, I am going to mention about our main character Henry Fleming’s characteristic properties in Red Badge of Courage. In the second section, I will tell you Henry Fleming’s psychological complexity in the light of Carl Gustav Jung’s thoughts.
The Red Badge of Courage by Stephen Crane, a war novel, presents us with the hidden and terrible face of war. A youth named Henry Flemming enlists in the Union Army in hopes of achieving his visions of heroism and glory. Shortly after he enlists, the fact of his decision arises. But things make him bring a different state than what was planned by Henry.
He is surpassed because of his fear of death. During his first combat, he escapes from the battle field when the enemy approaches. He instantly notices that war is not what he thought. I'm done reading the air by brittainy c cherry. The story is about the main characters elizabeth and tristan. Elizabeth lost her husband. Their daughter is the only person that keeps her in life. Tristan also lost his wife and son. Both elizabeth and tristan are lost souls until she moves to her old house, where she meets tristan. She can see her broken self in his sad eyes. A strong feeling starts to connect them.
