While reading a rose for Emily I expected to see some kind of love story or something romantic. But actually, throughout the story, there is nothing like a dramatic love story. The story is about a woman who looks emotionless, poor, and an outsider to the townsfolk. And we cannot know if it is true or not. Only after her death, when her neighbors found Hommer Barron’s body in her bed can we only understand that she is obsessed with lying with a dead body but not more
Edgar Allan Poe Edgar Allan Poe was an author I always wanted to read but never found the right time to read. The story at the beginning was so adorable because I also had a cat, and I identified him with myself, but I didn't think that the sequel could be like this. Out of amazement, I read the same sentence over and over and even questioned my English for a while. "...cut one of its eyes from the socket..." I read this sentence over and over again, looking at the meanings of the words over and over to prove I had misread it because my mind couldn't quite grasp such a brutal situation, or rather, I didn't want to understand it. And I never thought that the cat would take revenge in the end, I laughed a lot at the end with this side. It was a tragi-comic story. It was like nightmares that suddenly woke you up at 3 am by jumping out of bed. I have read the author's poems as well as his stories and in general, his style was full of horror, tragedy, and tension. In addition, his fluency in the written language made me more connected to the story.

Beklediğimden daha harika bir romandı. Sonunu bildiğim halde beni çok etkiledi. Daha önce okuduğum kirke kitabınada ayrıca bayılmıştım. Yazarın harika benzetmeleri ve tabiki çevirmenin yeteneği ile son zamanlarda okuduğum ve zevk aldığım sayılı eserlerdendi. Ayrıca bir çok mitoloji romanının yanı sıra konu aldığı olaylar ve karakterlerde çok hoşuma gitti. Herkesin okumasını öneririm
