The Wonderful Wizard of Oz by L. Frank Baum tells the story of Dorothy, a young girl who lives in Kansas and is suddenly carried away by a cyclone to the magical land of Oz. After her house accidentally kills the Wicked Witch of the East, Dorothy learns she must travel to the Emerald City to ask the Wizard of Oz for help returning home. Along the way, she meets the Scarecrow, who believes he lacks a brain; the Tin Woodman, who longs for a heart; and the Cowardly Lion, who wishes for courage. The group travels together, facing various challenges before finally reaching the Wizard. He promises to help them only if they defeat the Wicked Witch of the West, which Dorothy ultimately does. However, when they return, the Wizard is revealed to be an ordinary man using illusions. Despite this, he gives Dorothy’s companions tokens that help them recognize they already possess the qualities they desired. In the end, Dorothy learns she can return home using the magical power of her silver shoes, realizing that her greatest wish has been within her reach all along. From a literary perspective, the novel explores themes of self-discovery, identity, and the importance of inner qualities over external appearances. Each of Dorothy’s companions symbolizes a human trait "intelligence, compassion, and courage" and their journeys reveal that these qualities are not granted by others but already exist within them. This idea reflects a central message of the novel: people often underestimate themselves and seek validation from external sources instead of trusting their own abilities. The story also examines the contrast between illusion and reality, particularly through the character of the Wizard, who appears powerful but is ultimately just an ordinary man. This suggests a subtle criticism

This book had been showing up on my YouTube for a long time, and from what I understood, the reviews weren’t very positive. I wanted to read it without being influenced by any opinions and decide for myself after finishing it—but I can say this: from the very first chapter, I was like, what am I even reading? Is it possible to not connect with a single character? They were all boring, like robots with just one assigned role. You’ll be the best friend, you’ll only exist for one chapter. Some things were way too obvious—for example, I immediately understood that the letter wasn’t from the mother. And then there were those birdcages, and the ring inside the cage… I don’t know, there was absolutely no chemistry between the two main characters. Zero romance. And honestly, we didn’t even get a proper “second chance” story. Blair felt like a teenager, and Declan was just… unclear as a character. The “just friends” trope also felt pointless. And for example, the whole Lottie situation felt rushed and underdeveloped. Honestly, I’ve realized not everyone is meant to be a writer—but if you already have a fanbase, becoming one seems pretty easy. I really wanted to like this book, but it didn’t even give the rom-com vibe I was hoping for. I only kept reading just to finish it, because from beginning to end, everything was so predictable. Somehow their problems would get resolved, and of course, it would end with a marriage proposal… It fell far below my expectations. I don’t think I’d recommend it—unless you enjoy boring romance stories.

LOOOOOLLLLL DON't read this if you're suicidal. or you have a complicated relationship with your mother. or you wish that sometimes you didn't exist so that your mom could have a better life. or that you are in fact a mother and have a daughter and you're constantly worrying about her future and your relationship with her. Nonetheless, what a precious read.

"Sum," is a collection of stories about the afterlife and the possibilities are endless. The author, David Eagleman, uses the far reaches of his imagination to create forty unique takes on afterlife. Death and what follows is, to many, a mysterious subject and the author capitalizes on that mystique. Eagleman presents his many scenarios of what might be or what could be in the afterlife. The author takes the image of the creator to the extremes. In one narrative, "The Microbe," he describes god as the size of a microbe, so small that he does not know that we exist. In another tale, the reader is told that god is a Giantess who is so large that it is virtually impossible to communicate with her. Many of the stories focus on the consciousness of those entering the afterlife. For example, in "Graveyard of the Gods," afterlife is for man and for everything created or made by man. Therefore, anything that man invented has an afterlife. Everything from toasters to grand pianos have a place in the afterlife. But afterlife is also for the literary and mythic creations of man. All the gods that man ever created in stories have a place in the afterlife. In another story, those arriving in the afterlife are met with the daunting challenge of meeting versions of themselves - what they could have been - in comparison of their own filtered views of themselves. In several stories god, or the creator, is seen as anything but all powerful. In "Reins," god is perplexed when a committee, urged on by angels, finds him incompetent of deciding who should go to heaven and who should go to hell. In "Narcissus," the creators are called Cartographers. These creatures are smaller than man and equip man's eyes with high-resolution cameras. During their time on earth, humans are to take photos

Fenitschka - A Woman's Silent Struggle Lou Andreas-Salomé's short novel Fenitschka tells the story of a young woman's search for internal freedom trying to exist within the strict social norms of the period. Fenya appears as a strong character with both his ideas and his feelings. With his love, friendship, passion for freedom and the emotional collapses he experienced, he literally It is "human". Fena's biggest struggle is not within itself, but with the society that tries to suppress it. The fact that he had to live even a noble feeling like love secretly is not his, but the tragedy of his age. Salomé presents a strong criticism of the suppression of female identity through this character. Fenitschka is not only an individual story, but also an explanation of the invisible presence of women in society. I recommend this short but narrative-intensive book to everyone!
