Best book on Parkinson's Disease I have read so far - mainly because it is written by a journalist instead of doctors! If you are new to Parkinson’s, this is not going to give you the details on what the disease is or does that you’re looking for. But if you are familiar with Parkinson’s, this is a fascinating history and look-forward of the disease. Award-winning journalist Palfreman’s fast-paced, captivating, and crisp narrative of patients, doctors, and researchers is part scientific investigation, part medical detective story, and part memoir, and it opens wide a window into the world of Parkinson’s. He introduces readers to James Parkinson, who in 1817 offered the first clinical description of the disease; Jean-Martin Charcot, who accurately described the signs and symptoms of what appeared to be a movement disorder; Constantin Tretiakoff, who demonstrated that the disease was caused by damage to the substantia nigra portion of the brain; and Frederick Lewy, who discovered the pathological hallmarks of Parkinson’s. Palfreman, who was diagnosed with the disease during his research, investigates drug therapies, such as the routine L-dopa therapy initiated in the 1960s and still used frequently today, and experimental drugs such as NPT088, which has yet to be approved by the FDA. There are more than seven million Parkinson’s sufferers worldwide and Palfreman shares some of their stories, including that of dancer Pam Quinn, who has learned to “trick” her symptoms and teaches her methods to other Parkinson’s patients. He reminds readers that a diagnosis of Parkinson’s is a life sentence, but Palfreman remains optimistic about what new discoveries may be able to offer Parkinson’s patients. This book is AMAZING for patients with Parkinson's and for their close ones.

I’d really like to recommend this book. Füreyya is not only the story of Turkey’s first female ceramic artist but also a window into the early Republican era of Turkey. Through Füreyya’s life, you can learn a lot about Turkish society, culture, and especially her family’s connections. She was married to Kılıç Ali, a close friend of Atatürk, so there are many interesting details about Atatürk and the people around him. Ayşe Kulin’s writing is easy to read and engaging. If you enjoy stories about strong women, family, and Turkish history, this book is a great choice.

Murder on the Orient Express is a work of detective fiction by English writer Agatha Christie featuring the Belgian detective Hercule Poirot. Its Turkish name is Doğu Ekspresinde Cinayet. The writer began to write this novel in Istanbul Pera Palace Hotel. In that hotel, her room is not rented as she used that room to write this detective fiction. The opening chapters of the novel take place primarily in Istanbul. The Orient Express is stopped by heavy snowfall. Hercule Poirot gets telegram and he is also on the way back to London. Ratchett has been receiving death threats; recognizing Poirot, he tries to hire him for protection. Poirot, repulsed by Ratchett, refuses. Poirot is a friend of Mr. Bouc who is the owner of the train. The next morning, with the train still stalled, Bouc informs Poirot that Ratchett has been murdered and the murderer is still aboard, having no way to escape in the snow. As there are no police onboard, Poirot takes up the case. There are some clues and he investigates it among 12 people. The body has twelve stab wounds, the window had been left open, a handkerchief with the initial "H", a pipe cleaner, a flat match different from the ones Ratchett used, and a charred piece of paper with "member little Daisy Armstrong" written on it. While he is searching for the murderer we learn new things and Poirot prepares some traps for them. We learn that the victim's real name is Cassetti who killed some family members and we try to interrogate the meaning of justice. I won't tell about the killer. We guess and wonder about the murderer but the writer throws us a curve. The author has many artifacts about detective fictions. We have Ahmet Ümit who is also good at detective novel. There are some movies about this novel and I am going to watch the latest

Letter from an Unknown Woman begins with the return of R, a well-known writer, to Vienna. After the trip, R finds the letter that starts with the address "You who never knew me" interesting and starts to read the letter written on a letter he has received, and from this point on, he starts a journey in which he will look at his life from a different window. Written by a woman, the novel tells the life of a woman, which begins with the death of her child and ends with her own death. The woman falls in love with the man platonically from the first moment she sees him and does not give up on him until the end of her life. Although She shows no affection, she continues to live by deeming it a blessing to be with the man only once or twice. Until her child dies. The woman decides to write this letter when she loses the most precious treasure left to her from R. However, if the woman does not die, she decides not to give the letter to the man and to remain silent forever. As it has done so far. In fact, although the woman is always in the man's life, the man never remembers the woman. Even when the letter is over and everything is revealed, the woman is always a ghost to the man. The woman has a difficult life. When R was first involved in the woman's life, he was only 13 years old and led a poor life with his mother, who lost his father at a young age. Even before he saw him, he was impressed by his way of life and compared him more to a geography teacher in his mind. When she first saw him, she was smitten with him and she began to observe him. The woman, who has been invisible all her life, lives as if her life is trapped in a cave where there is no light when her mother marries someone else and has to move to another place, and goes to the man. She knocks on the door

Do not think that this story, which shows that everyone has something to learn from the little ones, is written for the little ones. First of all, it is a must read for adults. In this story, which looks at people's lives from a dream window, we learn about love, friendship, value and many virtues by getting to know the Little Prince, and we also think while learning. Hope to meet the Little Prince, who shows us life and sheds light on it...

Sexing the Cherry Postmodernism has become an important part of our life and culture in many ways. Although it is a very common word in today's world, it cannot be expressed as a complete definition. Postmodernism is known for its rebellious approach and willingness to test boundaries. It is an indisputable fact that the word ‘master narrative’ which is so popular among people has collapsed. According to Jean François Lyotard , the postmodern concept is the total expression of a process that includes both changes in material conditions and breaks in the intellectual field. First of all, it is a deep disbelief, or in other words, a radical suspicion. It is a skepticism of modernity and is concerned with the basic notions of an entire modern project. Lyotard traces and makes sense of this suspicion. In other words, ıt is determined that a dozen concepts related to modernism, called great narrative, such as progress, enlightenment, rationality, freedom, universality are not believable. We can call the new lifestyle that started with this state of doubt postmodernism. Therefore, it is not possible to believe in a single truth, a mere mind, a universal life position and it is impossible to believe that history and progress is a single and universal aspect and to theoretically base it. Undoubtedly, literature is one of the most critical area influenced by postmodernism. One of the most important figures to be categorized as both absurdist and postmodern is Samuel Beckett. A list of postmodern authors often varies; the following are some names of authors often so classified, most of them belonging to the generation born in the interwar period: William Burroughs (1914-1997) Kurt Vonnegut (1922-2007), John Barth (b. 1930), Donald Barthelme (1931-1989), E. L. Doctorow (b.
