Waseda Üniversitesi'nden mezun oldu ve kocası ve oğluyla birlikte Hyōgo, Ashiya'da yaşıyor.
1988'den beri, Ogawa elliden fazla çeşitli içerilerde eserler yayınladı. 2006'da matematikçi Masahiko Fujiwara ile sayıların olağanüstü güzelliği üzerine bir diyalog olarak "Dünyanın En Zarif Matematiğine Giriş" adlı kitabın eş yazarlığını yaptı.
