An indifference curve can be derived when there are two elements in every choice: 1) preferences and 2) opportunities (attainability of various goods) It is related to the former, preferences. It separates better (more preferred) bundles of goods from inferior (less preferred) bundles, providing a diagrammatic picture of how an individual ranks alternative consumption bundles.
A diminishing marginal rate of substitution is exhibited when indifference curves are convex, and the slope of the indifference curve increases (becomes less negative) as we move down along the curve. As a consumer moves down along his or her indifference curve, he or she is willing to give up fewer units of the good on the vertical axis in exchange for one more unit of the good on the horizontal axis. This assumption also means that balanced market baskets are preferred to baskets that have a lot of one good and very little of the other good.

PATHOLOGIES INDUCED BY CULT MANIPULATION - Phobias
Cult ideology is based on the internal-external dichotomy and a Manichean view of good and evil, leaving the cult member with a permanent fear of the world. [7] All CC speech feeds and supports social fears. The cult acts as though it is a rampart against the evil that reigns outside. Confrontation between the cult member and real society causes

'People,' Geralt turned his head, 'like to invent monsters and monstrosities. Then they seem less monstrous themselves. When they get blind-drunk, cheat, steal, beat their wives, starve an old woman, when they kill a trapped fox with an axe or riddle the last existing unicorn with arrows, they like to think that the Bane entering cottages at daybreak is more monstrous than they are. They feel better then. They find it easier to live.'
PHYSICAL CONDITIONING - Sleep Deprivation
Systematic studies on sleep deprivation clearly show that it has a strong effect on one’s psychic balance. Totalitarian conditioning generally uses this method, more or less empirically. Sleep deprivation is never presented as such: it is integrated into rites. Pretexts include religious offices, fixed hours of meditation, prayer, and the position of the moon and the stars. In the end, the member is encouraged to sleep on the floor, or in a “prayer” cell, or in strange positions. It’s well-known that sleep deprivation lasting longer than seventy-two hours leads to hallucinations or delirious disorders. These hallucinations will be used by the CC as evidence of mystical experiences or divine visitations.
