I really enjoyed reading this book. At first, I thought it might be difficult because it was written a long time ago, but the story became more interesting as I continued reading.
One of the things I liked most about the book was the adventure and action. The characters travel through dangerous forests, face many challenges, and have to make difficult decisions. This kept me interested and made me want to know what would happen next. But the most interesting thing was to think that all this cruelty and madness actually happened. It is blood-curling and saddening to think that the massacre scene at the battlefield or what that savage did to that baby by the rock really happened in real life.
I also liked how the friendship between the characters was shown throughout the story. The novel explores themes such as courage, loyalty, friendship, and survival. It gives readers a glimpse into a different period of history. It helped me imagine what life was like during the conflicts between different groups in North America. And I also wished I could have crazy natural survival skills, tracking skills and enhanced vision or hearing like the mohicans who dwell in the forests. Imagining living like them makes my sedentary city-dwelling life seem much more duller than normal.

Kitabı ikinci kez okuyorum. Son çıkan iki kitabı okumadan önce tekrar okumak istedim. İlk seferinde türkçe okumuştum şimdi seriyi ingilizce okuyacağım. Dili kolay, hikayesi akıcı bugün bile 10 sene önceki hislerimle okudum.
Yorumum filmle karışık olacak. Açık söylemem gerekirse kitapları daha çok sevdiğimi söyleyebilirim ama filmleri de çok seviyorum; okuduğumuz şeyleri harika bir şekilde sunduğu için. Ufak tefek yerleri ilk kitapta gözardı etmişler şimdi okuyunca farkettim o zamanda farketmiştim de aradan uzun zaman geçti. Fakat kitap ve film arasındaki alışverişte tek sevmediğim Peeta’nın filmlerdeki portre edilişi. İlk okuduğumda ve filmleri izlediğimde de böyle düşünüyordum; fikrim yine değişmedi. Peeta akıllı fakat yüzeysel biri değil. Zekası hareketlerine ve özellikle konuşmalarına yansıyan biri. Birçok kritik anda Katniss veya başka birine/bir duruma akıllıca analitik yorum yapabilen/davranabilen biri. Son filmlerdeki kritik anlar haricindeki replikleri hariç -ki kullanmak zorundaydılar-bunun hiç yansıltılmadığını düşünüyorum hatta diğer kitaplara geçmedim ama Plutarch’ın Peeta ile ilgili düşüncelerinin de bu yönde olduğunu kitaplardan biliyorum yanlış hatırlamıyorsam. We’ll see. Kitapta Capitol nasıl aşık iki çift gibi Panem halkına sunduysa aslında biz seyircilere de filmde onu verdiler -kitaptaki derinlik hariç-. Hemen diğerine başlıyorum son iki çıkan kitabı ilk defa okuyacağım için yavaş olabilirim ama bu üçlü hemen gidecek gibi…
