I read the book in a single sit. Because it was impossible to drop it from my hand. To be truthful i read some part as e-book in my bedtime. But it was fantastic. There is love, and triller and the best i like which is psychological thriller. I also keep wondering what could be the next books about. I would like to read series, but the book also completed the story itself. Like there is an ending but the books end with starting another story.
So maybe we can focus on the subject a bit, there is a person who is searching for a job and known as Millie. Millie has living in his car for a while and she is very desperate on her life conditions. And she finds an opportunity to be a maid for a rich household. After starting to work there, she understands something is off in this dream house and she starts to suspect of Nina who is her boss. Nina seems off in many aspects but is Millie right on her suspects? Or do we have more story to dig what is going on? We never know until we see the story… This was a breathtaking story to read.
What a heart warming story this is! I believe the story itself was very very powerful rather than just being a love story. Maybe even it was not a love story but it was a story to search for love. It felt like our head character is an inch close to love multiple times, but it is so strange she never finds a love as she expected. And beside for her searching for love, Evangeline (head character) found herself opening the doors of an enchanted world, so she is going from trouble to trouble with even risking her life at a cost of protecting others. She is love itself but has not realized the fact yet, and she and i have very similar identities to be in a story like this. Maybe all we need to do a bit self care but i am not sure how on earth we are gonna learn that. I wonder about next novel of series, maybe i will read it. Because i very liked first one. I just finished it in a day because i never feel like i can drop it.
Honestly, I’m a bit confused about this book. It was a short book, and I chose it because of that, but I didn’t like any of the characters. I think I more or less understood what the book was trying to do, and it definitely lived up to its title, but neither the main characters nor the others were likable. Every single one of them had their own issues and clearly needed therapy, and that was so obvious. While reading the preface at the beginning of the story, I wondered if the author was actually talking about himself. The unexpected event in the story was surprising to me, but at first, I struggled to understand what was going on, why they hated them, and why no one was going outside. But of course, as the chapters progressed and everything gradually unfolded, things started to make sense. I had already spoiled the story for myself beforehand, so I wasn’t too shocked when I read it, but I was surprised when I first saw the spoiler. I don’t feel like saying, “Go read it,” but since it keeps you curious and makes you wonder what will happen next and how everything will connect, it’s readable.
“Tiana’s dream comes true. She finally owns her beautiful, welcoming restaurant. Eudora is the happiest mother, because Tiana’s the happiest daughter. Louis is jumping and jiving all day and all night long! Ray’s really happy because now he’s next to his Evangeline… and Tiana and Naveen lived happily ever after!” ️
This story made me so happy. I loved watching the animation and it was so nice to read it. This was definitely my favorite version of this tale and it felt so much more real. I loved it so much that I will read it again and again.
It was the first English and poetry book of 2025. I think what drew me to it was how easy it was to read. There were poems I liked, though some felt repetitive to me. But I understood the message it wanted to convey. I think I'll check out the author's other poetry books as well. The one titled Harmony really caught my attention with its name and cover. Looks like this year will be full of poetry and English books.
Here’s my favorite poem from the book:
"I fell in love with you in the fall
and perhaps that was my mistake
I failed to realize
that fall leads to winter
and winter is lonely and cold
next time
can we fall in love
in the spring?"
Best Dark Romcom I've ever read. It is a combination of both thriller and romance. Josh and Ali are the best partners in crime, and of course, don't forget Fred OMG!!! The spicy scenes are the best, of course. I'm looking forward to reading the next book of the series. Btw I have to say that both narrators are great, especially the male one whose voice is perfect for the character. They made me feel the exact feelings
