4/5 Stars (%78/100) This is the second book in the series called The Masks of God by Joseph Campbell, aka the God of Mythology himself. Whenever you hear the word mythology, Campbell's name is always mentioned. Campbell is extremely important in the field of myths. I've used him as a source for hundreds of times. It is no wonder that this series is also very good. As it can be understood from the title, this book mainly deals with Asian myths and legends. I am especially interested in Japanese mythology, so this book was great for me. I borrowed it from my university library and finished it within a day. It is very fun to read but also very informative. Great source for research but also great to just spend some time and relax.

Oh my gosh. How can such a lousy book get a rating of 4.11 out of 5.0 on Goodreads? I don't want to be mean but there is no nicer way for me to put my actual feelings about this book after wasting my time on it. This book is a mishmash of concepts taken from other self-development books. There is no original idea. It is so superficial, lacking structure and cohesion between parts. Examples are lame, tone is weak. One thing that I can't accept is the title is about willpower but benjamin does not even try to describe what willpower is. willpower is a very elusive concept and he should have approached it more philosophically. I am sorry. But some people are not meant to be a writer.

MACERA SONA ERİYOR(Spoiler var) Efenim bu kitap serimizin son kitabıdır.İkinci kitapta olduğu gibi burada da 2 kısım şeklinde ilerliyor. İlk kısımda Kardeşliğin Frodo ve Sam dışındaki üyelerinin maceraları anlatılıyor. İkinci kısımda ise Frodo ve Sam'in maceraları anlatılıyor. Öncelikle Tolkien'in hayattayken bitirdiği bir kitap olduğu için Orta Dünya evrenini en anlaşılır şekilde anlattığını düşünüyorum.Tolkien'in diğer eserlerini oğlu babasının notlarından yazdığı için biraz daha karmaşık. İki Kule kitabının incelemesinde de belirttiğim gibi bazı bölümler filmde o kadar güzel sahnelenmiş ki, kitapta o bölümleri okuduğumda çok fazla beklentiye kapıldım ne yalan söyleyeyim. Özellikle Ride of Rohirrim sahnesi mükemmeldi bence filmde, bu yüzden fazlaca beklentiyle okudum o bölümü ama beklentimin altındaydı. Tabiki de bu kitabın kusuru değil, sinemaya çok iyi şekilde yansıtıldığı için bu durum böyle. Eh bunu da bitirdiğime göre Orta Dünya evrenine biraz ara verme zamanı geldi.Artık sırada Silmarillion var ama hemen okumayacağım çünkü biraz ara vermek en iyisi tadını çıkara çıkara okumak lazım. 3/5 Stars (%62/100) I've used this book as a textbook in my Life Writing master class. I think it is a very good source especially if you are new to this area of literature. Before reading the book and taking the course, I had no idea what life writing was. It is also very ironic that Smith, despite arguing that we should call it life writing or life narratives, chose the word autobiography for the title. Overall, it is a useful book and a good source to cite certain things. However, I found it complicated at times and it is quite long. I still recommend it if you are interested in memoirs and autobiographies, sorry I mean life narratives. My favorite term from the book is "thanatography" which comes from the Greek God of Death Thanatos and means narratives that deal with one's experience with death.
