2011 yılında vizyona giren Contagion (Salgın) adlı film, vizyona girdiği sıralarda gişede büyük bir başarı elde edememişti. Ancak yakın zamanda Google'daki aranması hızla artan Contagion, Amerika'daki Apple Uygulama Mağazasında en çok indirilen filmlerden biri haline geldi.
Filmde Gwyneth Paltrow'in canlandırdığı bir iş kadını olan Elizabeth "Beth" Emhoff, Çin seyahati sırasında kaptığı esrarengiz ve öldürücü bir virüs sebebiyle hayatını kaybediyordu.

2011 senesinde,ülkemizde "Salgın" ismiyle gösterime giren Contagion(bulaşma) isimli filmde ise Çin'den yayılan bir virüsü izlemiştik. Orada çok ilginç olarak virüsün çıkış sebebi olarak yarasa değil domuz olduğu gösterilmişti. Aynı filmi bugün izlediğimiz zaman ise bir bilim kurgu yapımını değil 2020 senesinde yaşadıklarımızı görüyorsunuz.
