Artemisia Gentileschi, 17. yüzyılın başlarında yaşamış, sanat tarihine adını yazdırabilmiş nadir kadın ressamlardan biridir.
Mesele sadece istisna olmak değil, o istisnanın nasıl mümkün olduğuyla ilgili. Erkek egemen bir dünyada, üstelik sanat gibi son derece kapalı bir alanda var olabilmiş bir kadından söz ediyoruz.
Anna Banti’nin yaptığı ise bu hayatı baştan sona anlatmak (biyografi) değil sadece... Onun yaptığı, anlatmaya çalışırken sürekli duraksayan, şüphe eden, geri dönen anlatım kurmak. Artemisia’yı yazarken bir yandan da kendini yazıyor; hatta yer yer ondan daha çok kendisini.
Bu yüzden roman ilerledikçe elimizde klasik anlamda biyografi okumuyor hissini bizzat yaşıyouz, aklımızda bolca yazar ile karakter arasında gidip gelen, neredeyse huzursuz bir konuşma kalıyor.
Bu huzursuzluk tesadüfi değil. 1944’te bir hava saldırısında romanın elyazmalarının yok olması, Banti’yi kitabı yeniden yazmaya zorluyor. Ama ikinci yazımda artık “hikayeyi anlatmak” yeterli gelmiyor ona. Kaybolan sadece bir kitap taslağı değil çünkü; aynı zamanda bir hayatın izleri, bir kadının sesi. Banti de bunun farkında olarak yazıyor bu kez: Artemisia’yı ne kadar anlayabileceğini, onu ne kadar “doğru” anlatabileceğini sürekli sorgulayarak. Belki de bu yüzden roman, anlatmaktan çok düşünmeye, hatta kendi üzerine kapanmaya başlıyor.

I finished this series last night and loved it! Everything about it made me sad. The Junior Jedi Knights series was really important to me, and I'll tell you a little bit about it. I'm sad because they're beautiful, but that's not enough. I don't think it ever will be. Their first meeting in the book was beautiful. Tahiri and Anakin were very courageous. Luke scared Anakin a little when he explained where his name came from. The fact that his grandfather's name was also Anakin and that he was a Dark Lord became Anakin's greatest fear. The second book, The Lyric World, is wonderful, and I love all the characters. That book really made me wonder about Melodies. Anakin and Tahiri were wonderful in Promises. Learning about Tahiri's past and her decision to stay at the Jedi Academy was wonderful. The last three books were great, too. I read them quickly and enjoyed them. I really liked Uldir, but his

it was fun to read. I dreamed the story while reading it. The story ,itself, was pitiful. I mustn't imagine myself in her shoes. Nevertheless it remainded to me the phrase of "witch hunting" again. Ah I matched the story and the phrase all together. Something that puzzled me about the story is she lived same destiny like her family. In spite of warm house, some foods and piece of dresses... She literally sold her family. What a shameless girl i said at the end of the lines. Eventually , she found, that is, what she deserved. Dot.

we’ve actually been preparing for this moment since the beginning. sons of destiny isn’t just a final book — it’s the reckoning where darren, steve, and the entire vampire-vampaneze balance meet their inevitable fate. destiny, at this point, feels unshakable.
one of the biggest questions throughout the book is about the prophecy and whether it’s truly unavoidable. mr. tiny’s infamous line — “one will become the vampire prince, one the vampaneze lord, and one will die” — finally comes full circle here. and the strange part is, neither darren nor steve really chooses this path. they both simply follow where fate drags them. and maybe that’s the whole point: the inability to choose.
the confrontation with steve is one of the most emotional clashes in the whole series. yes, steve is the villain, but he’s not just evil. there’s real bitterness, loneliness, and rejection in him. he and darren are two sides of the same coin. one was accepted, the other cast aside. and their showdown isn’t just about fighting — it’s a release of years of broken trust and regret.
but the real breaking point is when darren kills himself to break the prophecy. that’s when everything flips. he realizes he has the potential to become the vampaneze lord, and chooses to end his own life to stop the cycle. it’s not just a physical death — it’s the moment a character embraces his own darkness and still chooses to protect others. heroism here doesn’t come with glory, but with quiet, deliberate sacrifice.
when mr. tiny’s real motives are revealed, it’s absolutely chilling. the way he used darren and steve as pawns — even revealing they’re his sons — is twisted. he represents a much deeper evil: the thirst for control,
