Homage to Catalonia Before the Second World War began, the winds of Mussolini from Italy and Hitler from Germany were beginning to blow. Mussolini made a coup, Hitler came to power with the election one way or another as a result of his great efforts, and the world is shifting towards a different axis. Meanwhile, Spain is involved. This rebellion is with the working class and the Fascist administration. In this administration, there is Franco.
George Orwell went to Spain to cover the civil war there and then actually joined the fighting, enlisting as a militia soldier fighting for a faction of the government against the fascist rebels.

All Quiet On The Western Front It depicts the terrible and cold face of the war so beautifully that while reading the book, you feel the horror, fear and pain experienced by the soldiers at the front in the depths of your heart. You get the feeling that you can hear the groaning of injured horses. You experience the feeling that the ground cracks and splits under the influence of the bombs, and that the young bodies are sucked in by the effect of an earthquake. In these days when the drums of war are sounding again in our world, the book shakes you so much that “Is there anything changed on the western front?” You keep asking yourself the question over and over. And you realize that not much has changed on the western front.
Remarque tells the story through the mouth of its protagonist, Paul. This is a very simple and fluent explanation. Paul is a boy who voluntarily participated in the First World War, one of the most brutal wars in history, which took place in the trenches, under the influence of his teacher. I say child, but the 1-2 years he spent at the front made him more mature at the age of 19 than any of us.
