Stephen Jay Greenblatt (7 Kasım 1943; Boston, Massachusetts doğumlu) Pulitzer Ödülü kazanan Amerikalı edebiyat eleştirmeni, kuramcı ve akademisyen.
Stephen Greenblatt, Harvard Üniversitesi’nde edebiyat profesörüdür. “Yeni Tarihselcilik” adı verilen edebiyat eleştirisi ekolünün kurucusu ve önde gelen temsilcisidir. Başta İngiltere, Avusturya ve ABD olmak üzere birçok ülkenin üniversitesinde konuk öğretim üyesi olarak dersler vermektedir. Guggenheim Bursu’nu iki kez kazanmış olan Greenblatt, aynı zamanda da Modern Language Association’ın başkanlığını yürütmektedir. Dokuz kitabın yazarı ya da ikinci yazarı ve Norton Anthology of English Literature ve Norton Shakespeare’in de aralarında olduğu on adet derleme ve kitabın editörü olan Greenblatt’ın başlıca eserleri: Representing the English Renaissance, Shakespeareve Kültür Birikimi, Marvelous Possesions, Practicing New Historicism, Hamlet in Purgotary ve Learning To Curse.
