In the explanations about the book from two different perspectives
I want to be. As a Tolkien lover, I liked the book very much physically, it is an extremely cute, mini-picture book.
If we look at the essence of the book, it has a narrative in the style of poetry and very
Fun. In this sense, I liked it a lot, I had fun while reading. From the other point of view, I say on average, 100 of the 300-page book, the other 200 are preface, comment, etc. These parts bored me a lot, I even skipped some of them.

Don't expect to learn about Bombadil's life or something, it's just a poetic story book. It was a book that could be a bedside book.
A book that you will want to open from time to time and read poems
But you wear out until you come to those poems. Of course, there is also the issue of original language. You may be disturbed by the translation (I'm not saying it's bad, it's just not like the original, of course), but I think it's a nice book worth reading because I evaluate it according to how I spend time rather than detail. Think of it as a 100-page story, don't expect too much, you'd be happy if you ignore the remaining 200.
Honestly, I’m a bit confused about this book. It was a short book, and I chose it because of that, but I didn’t like any of the characters. I think I more or less understood what the book was trying to do, and it definitely lived up to its title, but neither the main characters nor the others were likable. Every single one of them had their own issues and clearly needed therapy, and that was so obvious. While reading the preface at the beginning of the story, I wondered if the author was actually talking about himself. The unexpected event in the story was surprising to me, but at first, I struggled to understand what was going on, why they hated them, and why no one was going outside. But of course, as the chapters progressed and everything gradually unfolded, things started to make sense. I had already spoiled the story for myself beforehand, so I wasn’t too shocked when I read it, but I was surprised when I first saw the spoiler. I don’t feel like saying, “Go read it,” but since it keeps you curious and makes you wonder what will happen next and how everything will connect, it’s readable.

Hugo directly and brilliantly gets his point across. Just as expected from a politically engaged (and also a romantic) writer like Hugo… we love a good social critic.

The Picture Of Dorian Gray Example of an Victorian gothic horror...Greatest novel about decadence, sin and aestheticism....Also, such an inspring novel and full of literary creativity. It's been common to see haunted portraits in Gothic Literature as in The Oval Portrait (Edgar Allan Poe), The Judge's House (Bram Stoker), and Picture in the House (H.P. Lovecraft). I'm in love with the language and rhetoric of the author. Wilde achieved to show us how he created modern Faust with this one. As we can see, Dorian Gray's transformation from an innocent shy painter's fancy-sick lust to heartless villain is engraved on his soul without any blemish on his pure face.
In the preface, Wilde states "there is no such thing as a moral or immoral book" which he quoted later as “The books that the world calls immoral are books that show the world its own shame.”
There are 3 main characters in the book which I appreciate a lot, since more can be confusing for me. Wilde even affiliates himself with the characters by commenting “Basil Hallward is what I think I am: Lord Henry is what the world thinks of me: Dorian is what I would like to be—in other ages, perhaps.” after the publication.
The masterpiece still remains like a monument to the power of vanity, the hope of love, and the tyrannic decay of the human soul. I can't wait to reading the novel again and watching film adaptations.Deneme, İnceleme

Kitap Türkçe'ye muhtemelen hiç çevrilmeyecek, zaten bende kütüphane de ücra bi köşede bulmuştum... Ola ki biryerlerden bulursanız yine de okuyunuz:)
Kitap kısaca, çevirimiçi yaşamın çok da görünmeyen yüzünü ve bizim internetteyken fakında olmadan kaybettiklerimizi sistematik bir biçimde ele almış. Mesela zaman, emek, gizlilik, mutsuzluk, kıskançlık... Okuması çok zevkli bir kitaptı zira davranış bilimlerinin pazarlamayla bağlantılı bir çok noktasını keşfettim. Mesela Hedonic Adaptation ya da Endowment Effect gibi aslında farkında olmadan uguladığımız ve bizi kötü etkileyen bir takım davranışsal kalıpları öğrenme fırsatım oldu.
Örneğin, The Economist gibi dergilerin online abonelikleri önce sana 2 ay bedava sonra XX€ gibi bir paket sunuyorlar, sen ücretsiz dergiyi okuduğun dönemde bir sahiplik duygusu hissediyorsun ve daha önce 300€ yıllık ödemeyeceğin bir dergi için ikna olmuş şekilde kendi iradenle ödemeye başlıyorsun...
Kitabın bence temel noktası, kişinin çevirimiçi olduğu zamanlarda kontrolü hiçbir zaman elden bırakmaması ve iradeli davranarak duygularını kontrol altına alması gerektiği.
