Selamlar. Ben kitabın genel olarak abartıldığını düşünüyorum. Savaşın bütün trajedisini yansıtan bir hikaye olarak deneyime puanım 10/10 ancak kitabın işleyişi, evren, karakterler, anlatım gibi kriterleri değerlendirdiğimde puanım 8/10’e düşüyor.
Yorum kısmına geçmeden önce kitabı nasıl okuduğumu anlatarak başlamak istiyorum. Ben kitapları postitleyen biriyim. Bu kitabı okurken de bir renk postiti bilgi içeren bölümlere ayırdım. Yazar evren, olayların geçmişi, politika, güç itemleri, simya mantığı gibi gibi konularda bütün bilgileri hikaye akışında parça parça veriyor. Seri bir şekilde okuyup geçtiğinizde arada önemli bilgileri kaçırıyorsunuz. Yazarın akışta verdiği neredeyse her minik bilgi parçası kitabın ilerleyen bölümlerinde önemli bir detay haline geliyor. Birinci bölümü bitirdiğimde -300. sayfada - o kadarda önemsemediğim bilgi parçalarının başıma bela olacağını anlayıp kitabı baştan taradım ve bu bilgi parçalarını tekrar okuyup geri dönebilmek için postitledim. Size de en baştan okurken okuduğunuz her yeni bilgiyi postitlemenizi tavsiye ediyorum ki çok fazla katmanı olan bu kitaptan maksimum keyfi alabilin.
Kitapla ilgili söyleyeceğim bir sürü negatif şey var ama kitabın geçtiği savaş atmosferi o kadar iyiydi ki kitabın sonuna kadar merak ederek okudum. Kitap genel anlamda çok katmanlı. Regular readers of Vladimir Nabokov are aware that his books are full of what I call “verbal acrobatics” as he is one of the few non-native English speakers who have mastered the language and can use it at a very high-level. He’s not only building exquisite plots but he also sets up lots of puzzles, challenges and games for the readers in his books.
However, Pale Fire goes to the very extreme in this aspect, since the whole book is an elaborate puzzle, to be solved by the reader and after more than 60 years since the book was first published, not all puzzles have been solved.
Structurally, it is an interesting book. There is a Foreword written by a Charles Kinbote, allegedly a visiting professor from the faraway country of Zembla, narrating how he came by with publishing a poem of 999 lines by the esteemed scholar John Shade, recently deceased.
The poem is fully included in the text, followed by around 180 pages of commentary and the book ends with extensive footnotes.
When you start reading the Foreword by Kinbote, the text steers you towards an implication that Charles Kinbote is actually the exiled King of Zembla. However, as you continue reading the text, something strange happens. It all depends on how you read the book. To understand what I really mean here, we have to visit one of the most enlightening books in this topic, namely Nabokov’s Pale Fire: The Magic of Artistic Discovery by Brian Boyd.
There are lots of academic papers about Pale Fire, but the book I mention here provides one of the most robust and extensive explanations of the book. Brian Boyd shows that there are various ways to read the book.
One can read the book sequentially, namely can read the Foreword, the Poem, the commentary and the footnotes in the order they are printed in the book.

Very little can prepare you for the wild ride that is Mikhail Bulgakov's "The Master and Margarita," especially if you've read other literature or folklore that have the devil as a character. What will be helpful, I suspect, is knowing a bit about the time and setting of the novel. Bulgakov wrote this book between 1930 and 1940 while living in Moscow under Stalin. The book is set in 1920, when everything was being taken under government control, from the distribution of food and beverages to city living quarters. Foreign nationals, literature, currency, and influence were tightly controlled, if not banned, and the secret police had eyes everywhere, locking up citizens on the barest of evidence and shipping them off to labor camps in Siberia. If this weren't bad enough, opportunists played the system for their own selfish benefit, such as reporting one's neighbor to the secret police in order to move into the neighbor's apartment. Religion went from being state-sanctioned to all but banned, and churches were vandalized and looted. All published literature was so scrutinized that only the most coded dissent could get through the censors. Bulgakov went from being an acclaimed playwright to an artist dependent on the unpredictable whims of the regime, having plays produced at theatres, but then shut down shortly after opening.
"The Master and Margarita," is in part a frustrated artist's reaction to all of this, as the devil appears in Moscow and wreaks merry havoc on those people whose mediocrity allowed them to thrive under Stalin, but it is also a great deal more. Frankenstein is written in the Regency Period when is between 1811 to 1820. The work was published in 1818 by Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley. The period is monarch of the Prince Regent who is King George III's son. The time plays an essential role in analyzing the work. Because Mary Shelley is inspired by the characteristic of the Romanticism Period in her work. This period emphasized individualism. Emotions, feelings, and senses are exceedingly significant for understanding the novel. In Frankenstein, the emotional distress of characters is intensely seen. Monster’s emotions states that 'All men hate the wretched; how then, must I be hated, who am miserable beyond all living things!’ (Shelley,83).

Prometheus is the creator of mankind in greek mythology. So, there is both creator a living thing in both stories. Then he desires to give fire to mankind but Zeus does not accept it. Then he gives fire to men and Zeus is riled by this action. They are associated they both suffer from their decisions too. Frankenstein's era’s difficulty is capitalism and Prometheus time's problem is gods in his perspective. They both break natural order. Prometheus is tragically punished each day. Prometheus chained in a mountain and an eagle eats his liver every day . Clay is an indispensable part when two stories compared with each other. Prometheus generate men with clay. Surely, clay is an element of nature. It is unique that humanities created in nature. I read it in my summer holiday. What I found so interesting was Fawer's breakdown of probability factors and influences, and the history that he wove through the tale. The story made me want to Google everything from epilepsy to LaPlace's Demon, and I think it's hilarious and awesome that I couldn't put the book down long enough to do any research.
"Improbable" is the story of David Caine who, as a poker playing, epileptic slacker, is hardly the typical pop fiction hero. But Caine is also a sometimes-professor of probability theory, which frames a refreshing unique tale that spans weighty topics ranging from Einstein's Theory of relativity to the writings of French mathematician LaPlace to the meaning of life itself. Sound convoluted - you bet - but deliciously so. By skillfully weaving a plot around it, Fawer pulls off the ultimate improbability - making quantum mechanics not only understandable, but also entertaining. To this, add the beautiful but lethal double agent, the Russian mob, the North Korean secret service, evil scientists, the CIA, NSA, a bunch of other alphabets, and some good-ole Texas Hold-em for good measure and, well, you get the picture.
The novel starts slow, introducing you to all the characters but before you realize what's happening it's developed into a page-turner you don't want to put down. There are about seven plot threads that circle in on themselves as the characters move through their various decision points until we reach the end of the book.
If you want a book that thrills you beyond anything you have ever read, take a chance and read this book!
And, if you just want to learn more about Probability and Statistics, read this book, and enjoy.
