"But, alas, I had done what I had determined not to do; I had slipped unthinkingly into praise of my own sex." (page: 121) A Room of One's Own is best understood when we first reflect on what feminism actually represents. Is it merely a demand for equality? Or a rebellion against centuries of imposed roles and limitations placed upon women? Even today, when we read about the historical denial of women’s most basic rights and freedoms, we are still surprised, perhaps because contemporary society presents such a different image of gender roles. Let us imagine a world in which women were confined solely to domestic responsibilities: raising children, sewing, and managing the household, often forced into marriage and denied access to education. A world in which they had no private space, not even half an hour truly their own. In Woolf’s argument, the absence of such material and intellectual space explains why fewer women emerged as successful writers. Without a room of one’s own, she suggests, a woman is also deprived of an inner world that belongs to her alone. Nothing is truly hers; everything is defined through ownership by men. Even the impulse to resist such conditions is gradually suppressed. Woolf’s writing carries a clear sense of intellectual rebellion. She questions why women could not live as freely as men, and imagines the creative potential that might have emerged under equal conditions. She also attempts to explain male claims of superiority through psychological and social patterns: insecurity masked as dominance, and the need to define oneself as superior to at least half of society in order to compensate for internal doubt. Meanwhile, women, historically excluded even from libraries and formal education, were denied the very conditions necessary to

"of what material was I made, that I could thus resist so many shocks, which like the turning of the wheel, continually renewed the torture?" Viktor Frankenstein When I think about this novel, I can't help but empathise with the monster. Guilt is a very provident theme of the story, and the consequences of one choice are severe. If only Frankenstein loved his creation instead of discarding him away. The creature had to live on his own, crave things he could never have, teach himself language from peoples conversations, and hide in the dark, afraid that he is not worthy of love and affection. He was an abomination in the eyes of human beings so why should he care for them or spare their lives? A chain of bad decisions and hate which could have been broken by one small act of love... I can't imagine the pain Mary Shelly was going through when she wrote it. I would recommend reading about her life or even watching the 2018 movie about her before reading the book. It gives another depth to the novel

Jim Hawkins was a young boy who lived with his parents at the Admiral Benbow inn. One day, a mysterious seaman named Billy Bones arrived. He had a scar on his face, drank heavily, and frightened the customers with his stories. He always asked about a man with one leg. Later, he received the “Black Spot” from a blind beggar named Pew, which meant death. Soon after, Billy Bones died of too much rum, and Jim discovered papers in his chest showing the location of Captain Flint’s treasure. Squire Trelawney and Dr. Livesey decided to find the treasure, and together with Jim and three loyal servants, they prepared a ship named the Hispaniola. Captain Smollett commanded the ship, but many of the crew were secretly pirates led by the one-legged cook, Long John Silver. When they reached the island, Silver and his men mutinied. Loyal men like Redruth, Joyce, and Hunter were killed, but Jim, the doctor, the squire, and Gray continued to resist. On the island, Jim met Ben Gunn, a castaway who had already found and hidden Flint’s treasure. In the end, the pirates discovered that the treasure was gone, and Silver’s plans collapsed. The survivors carried the treasure safely back to the Hispaniola. Long John Silver managed to escape before they reached home, but the others returned with wealth. Although many lives were lost, Jim and his friends succeeded. The adventure taught them that loyalty and courage were more valuable than gold.

This book talks a out the idea that "the government is always right." Thoreau says if the state is doing something wrong, like supporting slavery or starting unjust wars, you don’t have to blindly obey it. You need to resist injustice, because that’s how you fulfill your duty to democracy and human rights. And through that resistance, the system might be correcting its own mistakes. If you don’t take action, nothing will change, especially for the things you see as wrong. He even says that doing nothing can make you guilty. So, don’t stay passive. Take a stand through things like refusing to pay taxes or participating in boycotts, which is active resistance. It’s a short read, but full of powerful ideas. It makes you look at politics, justice, and personal responsibility in a whole new way.

It's a childhood enemies to lovers story. Emilia, the FMC, and Carter, the MMC, were enemies at first. They pranked each other all the time. After one kiss, their hatred turned into something that they couldn't resist. Small town, found family, and forbidden romance... Emilia was also the best friend of Carter's sister's, Kate. However, Kate was a really jealous friend. I didn’t like her because she didn't want Emilia and Carter to be lovers. Btw, I didn't like Carter at all because he chose the easiest way instead of convincing his sister. Emilia, on the other hand, could have tried to convince Kate about the relationship. They both didn't try their best. Maybe this is the first book of the trilogy, and in the other books, I hope they will fight for their love. I know they are teenagers. That’s why they didn't think rational, but their behaviors made me feel uncomfortable most of the time. I'll continue reading the trilogy because this book didn't end in HEA. I'm really curious about the other 2 books.
