2/5 Stars (%34/100) An extremely cliche storyline. Most of the characters are very dull except the telepath dude, he seems okay. The art style was okay. Nonetheless, I had fun reading it but I don't really expect anything else from this series. I would not continue reading it. Add it to your collection and forget about it.

4/5 Stars (%82/100) After checking out my notes and thinking about the book, I realized that the book deserves at least 4 stars. The reason my initial rating was low is that I was actually too dumb to realize its worth. The book is very complicated. Probably one of the most complicated books I've ever read. The reasons why this book is very complicated but also great: 1) The plot, character, and pretty much everything else is different. It has lots of postmodern elements and is, consequently, different than your usual, traditional books. 2) Non-linear plotline. 3) A story within a story. There seems to be two stories in the book. One is historical and about Dresden and the other one is sci-fi adventure story. 4) Both of these stories are very different than traditional ones so it makes it two times more difficult. 5) Reading sci-fi is not easy and this sci-fi time travel postmodern story is even more difficult. 6) Characters, especially the protagonist, are very mysterious and odd. These are some of the things that I remember but I am sure there are many more. This book is not for everyone! If you like to be confused and think A LOT about a book, this is it for you. If you don't like mysteries and prefer traditional way of telling stories, leave now. I definitely need to read this book again.

2/5 Stars (%33/100) Though I used this book a lot in my film class, I did not really like it. Some chapters were total nightmare whereas some were actually interesting. I found it boring to read in general and it was also weak in its arguments. Not a terrible source but not great as well. I did not learn a great deal from this book. It was okay.

3/5 Stars (%61/100) This continues from where volume A left off which is 1820. It covers 1820 to 1865. The Civil War literature is the main focus of this volume. A huge variety of African-American writers are included. I've said it before but I still use this book actively.

5/5 Stars (%90/100) This was my first book by Sherman Alexie and I absolutely loved it. It was very different than what I used to read. I was, and still am, more interested in reading fantasy/sci-fi novels so this was quite a journey. The culture and history of the Native-American people are depicted perfectly. I was not very familiar with them as I only knew some myths and legends. I am really glad my professor made us read this book. (Actually we read only one short story from this book but since I really liked that, I decided to check the whole book.) The short story that we read was called "A Drug Called Tradition." This is definitely my favourite story from the book. Thomas-Builds-the-Fire is a brilliant character in my opinion and he made me love the story even more. The story mostly deals with the idea of storytelling. Storytelling and oral culture is still extremely important in Indian culture. Thomas also reminds me of Junior in The Absolutely True. Overall, it is a great book. After this one, I've read two more books by Alexie and loved those as well. He is definitely one of my favourite writers now. Simply genius.

4/5 Stars (%78/100) This is the second book in the series called The Masks of God by Joseph Campbell, aka the God of Mythology himself. Whenever you hear the word mythology, Campbell's name is always mentioned. Campbell is extremely important in the field of myths. I've used him as a source for hundreds of times. It is no wonder that this series is also very good. As it can be understood from the title, this book mainly deals with Asian myths and legends. I am especially interested in Japanese mythology, so this book was great for me. I borrowed it from my university library and finished it within a day. It is very fun to read but also very informative. Great source for research but also great to just spend some time and relax.

2/5 Stars (%35/100) "Written in jargon-free, reader-friendly language," it says but I have to disagree. Though this is actually a good source in art, it gets very complicated very quickly. Too many quotations and examples over a simple thing and you start to get lost. I would not particularly recommend it but check it out yourself if you are interested nonetheless.

2/5 Stars (%37/100) Nothing much is going on with this one. I was a huge fan of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles when I was a child. (I mean the cartoon) I was unfamiliar with TMNT comics so this was pretty new to me. However, I found it dull and pretty standard. Get it since it's free but don't expect a miracle.

2/5 Stars (%38/100) Compared to the other ones that I've read in this series, this was actually better. Again, you have to remember these are free and acts as a teaser. Thus, nothing too important is going on but the character introductions are okay.

3/5 Stars (%65/100) I used this book quite a lot in my gender course. Even though this is essentially a historical book, it was very easy and fun to read compared to many other books I've read on this subject. There is a lot of useful information in the book. There are many specific examples and quotations in each chapter. The book is organized good but some chapters are too long.

3/5 Stars (%63/100) If you don't get this already, Marvel Legacy Primer Pages is a series that introduces a character very briefly. These are supposed to make you interested so you would read the whole thing. They are all okay in my opinion and that's all. Some of them are really bad but some are okay. The Punisher is a character that I really like so it gets three stars.

5/5 Stars (%88/100) In Memoriam is a very long poem. It is as long as a novel. However, you can read it in one sitting. The language and Tennyson's style is beautiful. The poem is dedicated to Tennyson's friend who died very young. The original title is "The Way of the Soul" and you can realize that the poem is very personal and dear to Tennyson. This might be cliche but the part that I really like goes like this: "'Tis better to have loved and lost Than never to have loved at all." This is without a doubt the most quoted lines from the poem. Even people who don't know anything about this poem and Tennyson like these lines and quote it. A brilliant poem in my opinion.

This book has only two important character. But this characters also are a personality of our inner voices. One brave and tired the other warm and helpful. Our Fisherman “Santiago”, mocked person about his misfortune, is in psychological exhaustion. Devoted pupil “Manolin” has real respect and love to Santiago. I think Santiago’s leaving the port without Manolin means ,in real life, separation from our safe and warm zone to a journey that we must take in our lives to achieve our goals without anybody but ourselves. However, in that journey he became regretful about the idea of not to go to the fishing with Manolin so many times. Although it was tiring and hard, he did it all by himself. And he was able to say “i did it.” to a people who was making fun of him. If you brave enough to cope with your aims by yourself, you have right to go to bed with inner peace.
