Hugo directly and brilliantly gets his point across. Just as expected from a politically engaged (and also a romantic) writer like Hugo… we love a good social critic.

oh yes this was an awful read, didn’t enjoy it at all and it definitely made me nauseous. i’ve never been more bored yet i had to force myself to read and analyze it for a class… but the fact that i didn’t enjoy it doesn’t change the fact that it’s the blueprint of existentialism. i still appreciate this work a lot.
an alternative story/ending for The Stranger by Albert Camus… i can’t decide whether i prefer A Happy Death or The Stranger. this one is existentialism in its purest form and the latter is absurdism in its purest form.. i wrote a whole ass thesis on this, i’m sick of it so i’ll just shut up. (but i feel like The Stranger wins by a hair.)
