This book is going to remind you one of Kafka's books, "The Metamorphosis". This time, a cockroach wakes up and finds itself in the body of the British Prime Minister. The book is a sharp and funny critique of politics, following the cockroach's efforts to pass a strange economic policy called "Reversalism." I absolutely loved this book! The sarcasm is wonderful and kept me engaged and finish it in a really short time. This was the first book I read by Ian McEwan, and I discovered him through a friend's recommendation. Since he is an author from the country where I live, it felt even more relevant and interesting. The writing is smooth and perfect for anyone who enjoys smart sarcasm.

Two people who are completely normal and real are depicted in this book's lives in a very complex and realistic manner. They’re Marianne and Connell. Marianne and Connell are two very sort of complex characters. They go to the high school together. Marianne comes from a very wealthy family a very well-known family but she’s not popular in school. She has literally no friends. Connell is very different person because he comes from a very notoriety family but Connell is actually very popular in school. He plays sport and he’s very attractive so lots of girls like him. I feel like it is such a true representation of what it is like to grow up like I’ve said I feel like I relate in a lot of ways to these characters because you know when you’re in high school just feels like it is like the only thing in the world like it feels like everything matters so much and if you don’t fit in you’re looking at these people that do fit in or are so popular and you just feel like your world is like crashing down and it is just like never going to end, but then for so many people like you leave high school and those people that you looked at like they really peaked in high school like that was their prime time. They grow and that is really what happens with Marianne. Briefly it was just a very real story it was a very complex story, but also just such a simple one it was so simple it was so easy to read. Actually real life and real people. You know each other but they both keep things from each other literally after years and years like leading up till the end, there are things going on where It’s like why did you never tell me and it’s like :) it’s just so real it’s so real how many times can I say that I don’t know but I adored this book so I didn't want the book to come to an end so

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button is a short story by F. Scott Fitzgerald, first published in Collier’s Magazine in 1922 and later included in his collection Tales of the Jazz Age.The story follows the life of Benjamin Button,a man who ages in reverse—he is born as an old man and progressively grows younger as time passes. Set in Baltimore, the narrative begins with Benjamin’s unusual birth in 1860.His father, Roger Button,is shocked to find that his newborn son has the appearance and mannerisms of a seventy-year-old man. As Benjamin "ages," he experiences life in a way opposite to everyone around him: he attends Harvard as a middle-aged man, marries a young woman when he appears to be in his prime, and later enlists in the Spanish-American War when he looks physically fit, despite being much older. However, as he continues to grow younger, his relationships and societal roles become more complicated. The story explores themes of time, identity and the expectations placed on individuals by society. It presents a satirical take on the desire for youth and the inevitability of aging, highlighting how Benjamin's condition isolates him from the normal experiences of life. I’d give The Curious Case of Benjamin Button an 8/10.It’s a clever and original story with a unique premise that challenges conventional ideas about time and aging.Fitzgerald’s writing is sharp, ironic and engaging, making it an enjoyable read. However, since it’s a short story, the character development and emotional depth are not as rich as in a full-length novel. Some readers might also find the story’s satirical tone a bit detached compared to more emotionally driven narratives. Still,as a thought-provoking and well-crafted piece of literature,it’s definitely worth reading!

Uzun zaman önce isminden etkilenip gerilim, fantastik kurgu vb bir beklentiyle okuma listeme eklemiştim. Sonrasında bir üçlemenin orta kitabı olduğunu öğrendim. Senaryo kıvamında, prime time dizisi ayarında bir hikâye.

The book consists of 13 stories in total. I have commented on all the stories below. 1) MS. Found in a Bottle: "MS. Found in a Bottle" by Edgar Allan Poe is a classic example of his mastery in the Gothic and macabre. The story is presented as a narrative from an unnamed protagonist who, along with others, finds himself aboard a mysterious ship caught in a relentless, enigmatic whirlpool. Poe's writing in this story is marked by its atmospheric and suspenseful qualities. The reader is drawn into the eerie and claustrophobic world of the ship, which seems to defy the laws of nature and logic. As the narrative unfolds, the tension escalates, leaving the reader with a sense of impending doom. What stands out in "MS. Found in a Bottle" is Poe's ability to create an atmosphere of dread and the unknown. The narrative keeps you on edge, wondering about the fate of the protagonist and the true nature of the ship. It's a fine example of Poe's ability to blur the line between reality and the supernatural, making it a compelling and unsettling read. Overall, "MS. Found in a Bottle" is a must-read for fans of Edgar Allan Poe's work and those who appreciate tales of mystery and the uncanny. It showcases Poe's skill in weaving a chilling narrative that leaves a lasting impression, making it a significant contribution to the world of Gothic literature. 2) The Gold Bug: "The Gold-Bug" by Edgar Allan Poe is a captivating and enigmatic short story that combines elements of adventure, cryptography, and treasure hunting. The narrative follows the unnamed protagonist, William Legrand, who becomes obsessed with deciphering a cryptic message he believes will lead to a hidden treasure. Poe's writing in "The Gold-Bug" is both intricate and mysterious, creating an atmosphere of intrigue that
