(E) SOSYOLOG ALBAY ALİCAN TÜRK’ÜN; “28 ŞUBAT – SİNCAN’DAN TARİHE NOTLAR” KİTABI DEĞERLENDİRMESİ
(E) Sosyolog Albay Alican TÜRK’ü ilk defa 2025 yılı Ağustos ayı başında tanımış ve tanışmıştım. Üç kitabı vardı hepsi de ilgi alanımda olan. Bundan önce iki kitabını okumuş ve geniş birer değerlendirme ve tanıtım yazısı yazmıştım. Tanışmamızın hemen arkasından, kısa süre içinde gelmişti bu okuma ve değerlendirme faaliyetlerim. Sayın yazarın bir kitabını okumamış olmayı ise büyük bir eksiklik olarak görüyordum kendi adıma. Tam 800 sayfa ve büyük boy (sayfa ölçüleri büyük) olan kitabını sona saklamıştım. Ve bugün (09.01.2026), sayın yazarı tanımamın ve kitapları ile tanışmamın üzerinden henüz beş ay geçmiş iken, son kitabını da okuyup bitirmenin ve bu tanıtım ve değerlendirme yazısını yazmanın mutluluğunu yaşıyorum.
Bakınca insanın gözünü korkutan bu çok kalın kitabı okumaya 25.12.2025 günü başladım ve sistematik/düzenli bir okuma ile 09.01.2026 günü bitirdim. Yani günde ortalama 50 sayfa okuyarak 16 günde bitirmiş oldum. Okumamın bu kadar uzun zaman almasının sebebi –yukarıda da bahsettiğim üzere- 800 sayfa ve sayfa boyutlarının büyük olmasının yanında, notlar alarak analitik bir okuma tarzını tercih etmem idi. Önceden iki cilt olarak basılmış, daha sonra ise iki cilt birleştirilerek tek kitap olarak piyasaya çıkmış. Kitap, 1. cilt ve 2. cilt olarak bölümlendirilmiş.
Sayın yazarın kim olduğu ve onu nasıl tanıdığım ve tanıştığım konularına önceki iki kitabının değerlendirmesinde genişçe yer verdiğim için burada tekrar etmeye gerek görmüyorum.

Silent Patient ( story wise writing)
Now that I have finished reading “ the silent patient”, I am very amazed by the ability of the author who truly made me shocked at the end of the story that he happens to call psychological detective story… people prefer calling this book a novel but I bet it doesn’t last too long after reading the book or coming to an end that was shockingly twisted. Spoiler - The therapist would be the last person to be suspicious of as he made it sound very normal and approached to every scene and detail as a therapist whose main job is to help people. BUT never mind, nothing is the way it seems like in this life, Turkish people say if everything was the way it seemed like then water from sea would appear blue in our hands. This is what I felt when seeing the truth, the kind of truth I wouldn’t be able to imagine if Theo, the therapist didn’t reveal if at the end of the story. Or should I say the beginning of an end ? Do stories truly end or what we call “ ending” is a beginning of a new chapter…. He approached and had written it in a way that made him sound look or even appear like a “ real therapist” who carry feelings of morality, depth, integrity and truly has compassion and eager to help people who are in trouble… like Alicia….. A person, a human being, an artist who was mentally sick as the members of Grove called…. She was a psycho in their interpretations…. But who knows what drew her to kill him? Who truly has enough empathy to try to understand what she went through to do such a thing rather than being as anyone else and calling her a “ bitch” how easy it must be to call someone that… when you don’t know anything except what police officers or investigators say… As people or human beings who immediately call someone “guilty” without giving it a try to understand or
I think Power is a suitable book for this. I finished it about 15 minutes ago and it really took me time to come to myself. I am not in favor of getting into the subject too much while examining it, I want to explain my thoughts with my own sentences.
Power is a book that confuses me a lot. It tells about a world where power is in the hands of women. A world where they have all the authority in their hands enough to lead a person to death... Although the subject of the book is aimed at explaining this, it is definitely not a book that argues that women should have power. On the contrary, I think it says that gender does not change any aspect of being human. Because while reading the book, you can compare it with the present time, and this gives people a very different perspective.
I think it was definitely a book to read.

Hisar, Broz ona Eva dedikten sonra panter ve Zorlu'yu kaçırıp gitmişti. İmparator kartını panterin tasmasından çıkartıp tüm gücü elinde toplamak istedi. Ancak kartı daha önce ikiye bölüp kaybeden Broz yüzünden işlevsizdi kart. Çünkü imparator kartının özelliklerini âşıklar kartına bölmüştü. Onu çalıştıramadı.
Hisar'ın bu unutkanlığının sebebi babasının yerleştirdiği çipin iyi anıları silmediydi. Bir şeyler yaşadıkça His Bronzla yaşadığı anıları tek tek hatırlıyor. Çok azını. Kalanı silik. Bronz'a çok kızgın ve kırgın, imparatoriçe kartıyla ortaya çıkıp onu devirmeye çalışıyorlar ve bir savaşa giriyorlar. Bronz'la bu savaşta fiziksel çekimler oluyor, kıskançlıklar. Bronz'un His'i düşman ilan etmesine, Hisar'ın da inatla hatırladığı bazı anılara rağmen savaşmasınq sinir oldum. Çok sövdüm o sahnelerde.
Eva-Atlas-Bronz ve Hisar dörtlüsü bambaşka bir konuymuş meğer. İlk iki kitaptaki bilinmezlikleri bu kitapta çözdük, sır mır kalmadı. Kalan kitaplarda ortak mücadelelerini okuyacağız sanırım.
His annesinin günlüğünü okuyup hissizleşiyor ve annesi taradın diye uzattığı saçlarını bile kesiyor. Bronz buna deliriyor çünkü saçlarını seviyor. Bunu bana nasıl yaparsın diye isyan ediyor çünkü ona söz vermişti ama unutmuş bunu da...
İkinci kitaptaki His'in eski sevgilisi Lider His için eksik falan demişti. Bronz onu hayalarından vuruyor, ölmesin diye uğraşıyor, sen eksiksin diye vurguluyor. Lider intihar ediyor.
Nefel Bronz yerine İmparatoriçe His'i tercih edip casusluk yapınca His de onunla işi olmayacağını söylüyor, Bronz onu astırıyor. İhanetin affı yok.

Why 10 minutes and 38 secondsAraştırma-İnceleme
While reading, I kept wondering why the book was titled 10 Minutes and 38 Seconds. Why not just 10 minutes, or 10 minutes and 30 seconds? That extra 38 seconds felt so specific. By the end, I understood that Elif Shafak is not only a masterful storyteller, able to capture the soul of situations with the perfect words, but also a writer who carefully grounds her fiction in research.
The number refers to scientific studies on what happens to the human brain after death. Neuroscientists have discovered that the brain does not shut down immediately when the heart stops beating. In fact, brain cells can remain active for several minutes, allowing flashes of memory and fragments of consciousness to persist. Some studies have recorded brain activity for as long as 10 minutes after clinical death. Shafak takes this fact, deepens it, and turns it into something symbolic: 10 minutes and 38 seconds, the final window in which an entire life can unfold in sensory memories.
"Perhaps a person's thoughts survived longer than his heart, his dreams longer than his pancreas, his wishes longer than his gall-bladder... If that were true, shouldn't human beings be considered semi-alive?"
