When I get bored in the library, I like to walk around the shelves. I love exploring different books and starting out with no idea about them. The exterior of this book was like a very sweet children's book at our library. When I looked inside, I saw lots of "cartoon" drawings and I bought the book without ever reading it. Although the

The autobiographical novel, describing Sylvia Plath painful ordeal when she becomes mentally ill is such a book. This is a disturbingly frightening journey through the mind of a young girl suffering from depression in the 1950's. How far we have come in the last few decades in recognizing depression as a mental illness and treating it with much

Persuasion Jane Austen's most beautiful and final book. Mysterious force and romantic love. Then these modern editions are to be strongly recommented for their scrupulous texts, informative notes and hepful introductions. I like very much. You are to read absolutely.

“When death captures me,” the boy vowed, “he will feel my fist on his face.” “I have hated words and I have loved them, and I hope I have made them right.” This is a book to treasure, a new classic. I absolutely loved it. This book made me feel empty in a way that only truly beautifully written books can. When I finished reading the last word

The Boy in the Striped Pajamas was an amazing read for me. It was a fairly quick read. I finished it in two days, but I never saw the ending coming, and it totally wrecked me and it is truly an amazing yet daunting novel that I will never forget. The author John Boyne did a masterful job of depicting the setting in such vivid detail and exposing

5/5 Stars (%88/100) I've read the Turkish edition before and absolutely loved it. I believe it was my first book by Zelazny. Now that I'm reading it in the original language and that I know Zelazny's style, I can appreciate it even more. I admit it is still not as good as Lord of Light but man that book is phenomenal. This Immortal revolves around a mysterious named man Conrad Nomikos who has an interesting past he rather not talk about and he is apparently the Art Commissioner of Earth. An alien comes to Earth and Conrad is his guide. However, everything changes when someone tries to assassinate the alien and Conrad saves him. Conrad's character is brilliant in my opinion. Zelazny himself also admits that he is like a prototype for Sam from Lord of Light meaning he is both supernatural and well ordinary. The identity of Conrad is an ambiguity in the book. He might Great God Pan or a kallikantzaros (a type of goblin) or none of them or both, we don't know and that's the beauty of it. There are a lot of things going on in the story but you can't help but wonder about Conrad's true identity. The ending of the book is also brilliant. I'd definitely recommend it to everyone.

5/5 Stars (%90/100) I started watching the anime when it first came out. (16 episodes and counting.) It was animated by Ufotable which is my absolute favourite from Fate series. Beautiful animation and soundtracks dragged me in even though the plot was quite simple. I started reading the manga couple of weeks ago and now I am waiting for the new releases. It is simply awesome. Our protagonist is a boy named Tanjirou and one day, his family is slaughtered by a demon. The sole survivor is his sister Nezuko who turned into a demon. A demon slayer comes to investigate and murder her but realizes that there is more to this mysterious girl and boy. Tanjirou's goal is to become a Demon Slayer and cure Nezuko. Tanjirou's character is perfect, absolutely perfect. He is sometimes witty and sarcastic like all other Shounen protagonists. However, he is so mature, intelligent and perfect at making calm decisions. Every character is unique whether it is a demon or a demon slayer. Everyone has a beautiful background story which makes you like them even they do terrible things. I can't recommend it enough. Go watch the anime and more importantly read the manga.

5/5 Stars (%97/100) I was more or less familiar with the style of the writer, which is satiric, humorous and very effective. This is apparently his most famous book and I had to read for one of my classes. I didn't have a lot of knowledge about the book before I started it, so it helped me like it even more. The story revolves around a Spokane Indian named Junior who lives in a reservation. Junior is dissatisfied with his life in the reservation and decides to leave and live with "them whites." The author brilliantly portrays the harsh lifestyle of the Indians through the perspective of Junior who is 14 years old. Though he is very young, Junior is very smart and mature. He has a lot of problems in life not only because of his origin but also health problems. He thrives to survive in two worlds; Indian and White. I really enjoyed the book. It is definitely a page-turner. The language is very smooth and easy to understand. It is extremely humorous and satiric. Even when the author is talking about the death of a person, it still manages to put a smile on your face. It is sometimes tragic but also has comedic elements. The book is autobiographical and fictionalizes Alexie's own life.
