So refreshing to read a piece of literature that has shaped me into the person I am and also impacted my in every way possible. The dead poets have been a part of me for so long, and coming back to them connects me back to my roots again. I feel at home again, where the home is a cave. Dear Dead Poets, you will never not have a special place in my heart. I will always return to the place I belong, to the little cave where 7 young poets dreamt the wildest of dreams and became anything they wanted to be.

In Beyinde Ararken Bağırsakta Buldum, Serkan Karaismailoğlu invites the reader to rethink the human body by shifting the focus from the brain to an often underestimated organ: the gut. The book centers on the relationship between the brain, the intestines, and the trillions of microorganisms living inside us, showing that many things we attribute to “the mind” are deeply connected to the body, especially the digestive system. What makes this book stand out is that it is not limited to anatomy or neuroscience alone. While Karaismailoğlu explains how the nervous system, hormones, and microbiota interact, he also enriches the narrative with etymology, historical anecdotes, and cultural references. Words, medical terms, and concepts are traced back to their linguistic roots, and scientific discoveries are placed within their historical context. This gives the reader the feeling that science is not isolated from language or history, but deeply intertwined with them. Another strong aspect of the book is the author’s language and tone. Instead of sounding like a textbook, Karaismailoğlu writes in a conversational, humorous, and engaging way. The examples he uses, often drawn from daily life, make complex biological processes easier to understand and surprisingly enjoyable to read. Even when dealing with technical topics, the book never feels heavy or inaccessible. Overall, Beyinde Ararken Bağırsakta Buldum is both informative and entertaining. It offers valuable knowledge about how our bodies work while also appealing to readers who enjoy learning about the origins of words and ideas. The book successfully combines science, history, and language, making it a rewarding read for anyone curious about the human body and the hidden connections that shape our behavior and

Understanding the Power of Empathy In Born for Love, Bruce D. Perry and Maia Szalavitz explore the profound impact of empathy on human development. They begin by discussing the evolutionary roots of empathy, arguing that it is a fundamental aspect of human nature. They delve into the neurobiology of empathy, explaining how our brains are wired for connection and how early experiences shape our capacity for empathy. The authors emphasize the critical role of early childhood experiences in the development of empathy. They discuss the importance of secure attachment between infants and their caregivers, highlighting how this early bond lays the foundation for the child's ability to empathize with others. They also explore the impact of adverse childhood experiences, such as neglect and trauma, on the development of empathy, shedding light on the long-term consequences of early emotional deprivation. The Impact of Empathy on Society Perry and Szalavitz then shift their focus to the broader societal implications of empathy. They argue that empathy is not just a personal trait but a social force that underpins our ability to form healthy relationships, build communities, and maintain a peaceful society. They discuss how empathy influences our moral development, shapes our ethical behavior, and fosters a sense of social responsibility. The authors also explore the darker side of empathy, discussing how it can be manipulated and exploited. They examine the role of empathy in fueling group conflicts and perpetuating social injustices, shedding light on the complex interplay between empathy, identity, and intergroup relations. They also discuss the concept of 'empathy fatigue,' highlighting the challenges of maintaining empathic concern in the face of overwhelming

This book by Edward Said, describing himself as a displaced intellectual, explores Orientalism from its historical roots to the present day, supported by strong and well-documented references. Even if you’re already familiar with the subject, this is a must-read from a scholar like Said.
