It is sometimes said that the tragedy of an artist’s life is that he cannot realize his ideal. But the true tragedy that dogs the steps of most artists is that they realize their ideal too absolutely. For, when the ideal is realized, it is robbed of its wonder and its mystery, and becomes simply a new starting-point for an ideal that is other than itself. This is the reason why music is the perfect type of art.

A Deconstruction of Existential Crisis
“Nausea” written by Jean-Paul Sartre is a work that delves deep into human psychology. It also discovers the nature of existence and the meaning of life. The novel was published in 1938 and became a seminal work for existentialist literature. Today, the book continues to captivate readers with its haunting atmosphere and philosophical prose. In my

This is simply a stunningly beautiful book. It focuses on a family which is gathered together because the father, Adam Godley, a brilliant theoretical mathematician, is on his deathbed. He is attended by his second wife, his son Adam (and Adam's wife Helen), and his daughter Petra. Petra's "young man" visits, although his interest in Petra is not clear. There are a few others stopping by the Godley home as well. The narrator of the novel is Hermes, the Greek god (aka Mercury), and Zeus and Pan play key roles as well. Bringing in the gods to accompany a family facing the death of one of its members is Banville's genius: who better to opine on the end of life than the immortals, whose lives have no ends. The gods also play other roles in the lives of several members of this family; to be more detailed than that would spoil. Suffice it to say that Banville handles all this with brilliance. Whether we are inside a god's head as narrator ("Of the things we fashioned for them that they might be comforted, dawn is the one that works.") or the head of the dying man ("When the time comes, and it cannot be very long now, I want to die into the light, like an old tree feeding its last upon the radiance of the world") or seeing what family members are thinking and feeling, we are always in the presence of a knowing mind, a mind that understands exactly how we think and feel. It is not for nothing that this is Banville's fifteenth novel; no young writer could be so wise or translate that wisdom in words so well. Every page is jeweled, studded with insight beautifully presented. I do not want to forget what is here.

5/5 Stars (%92/100) Before I dive too deep into the book, allow me to say a few words. Like Gaiman himself (read the introduction), Batman is my number one hero. I have a lot of favorite heroes like The Flash but Batman is different. I've always loved him and I probably read most of the comics and graphic novels (I don't really remember when). I've read this one before and it is definitely my favorite Batman comic but I couldn't really remember exactly when I read it. I decided to reread it because well Batman is my fav and Neil Gaiman is my second favorite writer (Tolkien being the first). So, I'll admit I'm kind of biased. When I finished it, it all came back to me. I remembered when and how I read this one. The book deals with Batman's death observed by the great detective himself. Everyone who knows and loves Batman comes to his funeral, including his enemies like Penguin, The Riddler, and The Joker. Everyone tells a different story and the death of Batman and this baffles the Bat. From the beginning till the end, I felt oddly warm. This is why I think the book is described as a love letter to Batman. The dialogues, the panels, the art style...everything was perfect in my opinion. I especially LOVE that certain panel of Alfred as The Joker. I've some people complaining about the ending but I found it fitting as well. Overall, this is a different Batman book than what we are used to in the sense that there is less action but more philosophical subjects. It makes you think and question certain things but you cannot help but admire Batman and what he stands for. Simply brilliant!

Perfect!
5/5 Stars (%100/100) It has been a long time since I gave something a %100. I spent the entire day reading this and there wasn't a single chapter that I got bored (a total of 110 chapters in this book). The art style, pacing, characters and their design, the plot, and the action...They are all perfect and I have nothing negative to say about it. This is a Manhwa (Korean Manga) or a webcomic that is very similar to the God of High School. The main thing about the series is the action. The fight scenes are brilliant. However, the characters are very well-written and the plot itself is also interesting. In short, the series revolves around a Hunter named Sung Jin-Woo who is dubbed as the World's Weakest. However, he gets a unique power that allows him to level up and get stronger hence the name Solo Leveling. Apart from Jin-Woo, there are many memorable characters. The humor element is also there. Since this book has 110 chapters (Season 1), it is impossible to talk about all of the events. However, as I mentioned before, I spent the entire day reading this because I simply could not leave. It is very addicting and I will probably catch up with the series (I believe there are 161 chapters right now). I definitely recommend this to everyone especially you are a fan of series like the God of High School, Overlord, Tensei Shitara and so forth.

5/5 Stars (%87/100) I'm giving this is a high rating mainly because of Sasaki Kojiro. The fight between Sasaki and Poseidon comes to an end and it is my favourite fight so far. I loved Sasaki's backstory and techniques. It is also fitting he was the one who fought Poseidon. Simply brilliant! The remaining chapters are about the 4th fight which is between Justice, represented by Hercules, and Evil, represented by Jack the Ripper. It starts out slow so I don't have a lot of things to say. However, people say that this is a great fight.

Updated!
4/5 Stars (%77/100) Updated Review on Feb 2021: Black Clover has the potential to be among the best shonen series (Naruto, Bleach, HxH and so on). I found the first volume to be an enjoyable one. It is difficult to catch the attention of the audience and many series fail to do it which in the end, causes people to drop the series (For example, Fire Force which is brilliant but the start is a bit slow and quite boring from time to time). To put it simply, Black Clover is about two boys, Asta and Yuno, who want to be the Magic Emperor (think of it like Hokage). Yuno is a genius whereas Asta is a loser. The thing I like the most about Black Clover is the magic system. The magic system is one of the best I've ever read like Nen in Hunter x Hunter. The possibilities are endless with this system and it makes the series so much better. In this volume, we are introduced to many characters apart from Asta and Yuno. We learn about the magic, grimoires, Magic Knights, and more. I liked this volume in general and since this is the first volume, I wanted to write a longer review.

5/5 Stars (%100/100) This is another volume that is absolutely perfect and one of my favorites. The Infinity Train arc ends with this volume and the movie is based on volumes 7 and 8. Even before watching the movie, this was great to read but now, after watching the movie, I can appreciate it even better. The boys and Kyojuro continue to fight and just when they think they are safe, Akaza appears. Akaza is the Upper Moon Rank 3 demon which means he is very close Muzan himself, which also means he has to be extremely powerful. The fight scenes are full of emotion and it is as if you can feel the clashes. The whole book is very emotional and powerful. Kyojuro is such an amazing character and his interaction with Tanjiro and the boys is great. This is definitely one of my favorite chapters and after reading it, I suggest you watch the film because it is simply amazing. Brilliant job Gotouge Sensei!

5/5 Stars (%94/100) This is one of the books that I am writing my thesis on, the other being American Gods by Gaiman again. I've read the book before (in Turkish) but I decided to read it to understand it. It is much better in the original language this is not even a debate. I tried to read as slowly as possible but in the last two days I think I've read more than 200 pages because 1) it was super fun and interesting 2) I am going to have to read it later anyway so there is no need for me to read it slowly anymore. Compared to American Gods, this is shorter and easier to understand. Yet, the characters are still brilliant. I have to say I like Fat Charlie more than Shadow (from American Gods) himself. There is this mysterious charisma he has just like Spider and Anansi. Since I am also a huge fan of trickster gods, this book is simply brilliant. I am glad that I chose this book for my thesis because I will never get tired of it even if I have to read it 20 times, something I will probably do while writing it. In short, the characters are written beautifully, the story is interesting, the language and tone are great, and finally if you like Gaiman's works especially American Gods, you'll love this book.

5/5 Stars (%100/100) I've read The Children of Hurin many times in 2 languages but this was a different journey for me. Initially, I sought to buy The Silmarillion (My favourite from Tolkien) but from the sample, I thought it is not for me. Then, I saw that the one and only Sir Christopher Lee reads this book. The Children of Hurin is a brilliant but probably the most tragic story by Tolkien. Sir Christopher Lee made the story much more effective and sad in my opinion. I've loved his acting and deep voice (especially The Raven of Poe by him). He managed to capture the emotions of every character alone and I am sure I'll listen to this in the future while reading the book. Simply brilliant! You would not regret this.

5/5 Stars (%90/100) This was my first book by Sherman Alexie and I absolutely loved it. It was very different than what I used to read. I was, and still am, more interested in reading fantasy/sci-fi novels so this was quite a journey. The culture and history of the Native-American people are depicted perfectly. I was not very familiar with them as I only knew some myths and legends. I am really glad my professor made us read this book. (Actually we read only one short story from this book but since I really liked that, I decided to check the whole book.) The short story that we read was called "A Drug Called Tradition." This is definitely my favourite story from the book. Thomas-Builds-the-Fire is a brilliant character in my opinion and he made me love the story even more. The story mostly deals with the idea of storytelling. Storytelling and oral culture is still extremely important in Indian culture. Thomas also reminds me of Junior in The Absolutely True. Overall, it is a great book. After this one, I've read two more books by Alexie and loved those as well. He is definitely one of my favourite writers now. Simply genius.

5/5 Stars (%91/100) What a journey! What an ending! This is definitely one of the best graphic novels I've ever read so far. I admit there were some problems with the pacing that made people angry because each issue was released in 8 months or something. I am glad I waited all these years for this to end so I could binge read it. It is simply not possible to talk about this issue without spoiling anything but I loved it. I loved the idea of doomsday clock. Each character is unique and has so much depth. The little easter eggs and details also made it great. Brilliant series, definitely recommended.
