For my first review, I will talk about one of the most recent books I have read, Kahekeli’s Bones. Our book, which contains 2 short stories written by Jack London, is 56 pages. Among our first story, Ah Kim’s Tears, and our second story, the name of our book, Kahekeli’s Bones, I liked the 1st story the most. In our first story, the events take place in a chinatown. The three main figures and explanations in the first story were really good. I can say that I really liked a few quotes and sayings. Also, the ending of the story was really sad. I think it would be fair to give this beautiful story an 8/10. My favorite quote is;
“Let’s say they lived on such wages, or at least they didn’t die on such wages.”
When we come to our second story, we are in Hawaiian territory. This story allows us to take a closer look at the ancient tribes and their lifestyles. It was a really enjoyable story for their customs and manners, but I can’t say that I liked the style and the way it went. I rate this story 5/10 for my newfound knowledge of Hawaiian local things.
“‘Therefore, the desire for woman must be greater than the desire for life,’ agreed Pool. ‘There would be neither men nor women.’ “
