This book had been showing up on my YouTube for a long time, and from what I understood, the reviews weren’t very positive. I wanted to read it without being influenced by any opinions and decide for myself after finishing it—but I can say this: from the very first chapter, I was like, what am I even reading?
Is it possible to not connect with a single character? They were all boring, like robots with just one assigned role. You’ll be the best friend, you’ll only exist for one chapter. Some things were way too obvious—for example, I immediately understood that the letter wasn’t from the mother. And then there were those birdcages, and the ring inside the cage…
I don’t know, there was absolutely no chemistry between the two main characters. Zero romance. And honestly, we didn’t even get a proper “second chance” story. Blair felt like a teenager, and Declan was just… unclear as a character. The “just friends” trope also felt pointless. And for example, the whole Lottie situation felt rushed and underdeveloped.
Honestly, I’ve realized not everyone is meant to be a writer—but if you already have a fanbase, becoming one seems pretty easy. I really wanted to like this book, but it didn’t even give the rom-com vibe I was hoping for. I only kept reading just to finish it, because from beginning to end, everything was so predictable. Somehow their problems would get resolved, and of course, it would end with a marriage proposal…
It fell far below my expectations. I don’t think I’d recommend it—unless you enjoy boring romance stories.

Konu demişken, teknoloji almış başını gitmiş, insanlar kablosuz gözlükler gibi bazı ekipmanlarla sanal ortamlara bağlanıp hayatlarını orada geçirmeyi tercih ediyorlar. Her yıl düzenli sanal savaş oyunu turnuvaları gerçekleştiriyorlar ve büyük ödüller için takımca bir mücadele ortaya koyuyorlar. Bu turnuvalara katılmak çok zor, rekabetçi şekilde puanınızı yükseltip dünya çapında üst sıralarda yer almanız ve katılım için davetiye beklemeniz gerekiyor.

Ready Player One (Başlat)'a güzel bir devam
Serinin bir önceki kitabını çok beğendiğimden ötürü devam kitabını da okumak gereksinimi duydum. İlk kitap, çok büyük oranda konusunun özgünlüğü ve nostalji ögesi yüzünden, çoğu insan gibi bende de yeri ayrı olan bir eser.
Bu kitap da ona layık denebilecek bir devam kitabı olmuş. Bazı noktalarda eksiklikleri mevcut. Mesela bazı problemlere bulunan çözümler spontane hissettiriyor. Sezdiğiniz üzere tam problem noktasında yazar bir çıkış noktası bulamıyor ve yama olduğu çok bariz bir çözüm getiriyor. Bu yamaya dair metinde daha önce bahis olmadığı için gözünüze çarpıyor. Bu tarz bir iki noktada kitabın biraz aceleye geldiğini hissettirdi bana.
Genel olarak ilk kitap gibi geçmişe çok referans veren, özellikle 80 ve 90'larda çocukluğunu yaşamış insanlara nostaljik hisler yaratan keyifli bir okuma oldu benim için. Sonu çok beklenmedik bir şekilde değişik bir noktaya bağlandı. Bir tık şaşırttı açıkçası. İlk 100 sayfa bir nebze yavaş ilerlese dahi, gerçek villain ortaya çıktıktan sonra yağ gibi aktı, okuttu kendini.
Serinin bir üçleme olacağı düşünülüyor. Söylentilere göre son kitap "Ready Player Zero" adıyla gelecek. Konusunun ogden morrow ve james halliday'in OASIS'ın geliştirilme günlerine odaklanacağı bekleniyor. Dolayısıyla kahramanımız Parzival'a bir veda ediyoruz bu kitapla.
P.S: Son kitapiçin Ernest Cline'ın acele etmeyeceğine dair bir izlenim edindim. Muhtemelen 2030'lara gelmeden o kitabı göremeyeceğiz :(
The Fatal Eggs is a science-fiction novella by Mikhail Bulgakov, a Soviet novelist and playwright whose most famous work is The Master and Margarita. It was written in 1924 and first published in 1925. The book became quite popular, but was much criticized by some Soviet critics as a satire of the Russian Revolution of 1917 and the leadership of Soviet Russia.
The Fatal Eggs can be described as a science fiction novel. Its main protagonist is an aging zoologist, Vladimir Ipat'evich Persikov, a specialist in amphibians. The narration begins in Moscow of 1928, which seems to have overcome the destructive effects of the Russian Civil War and is quite prosperous. After a long period of degradation, research at the Zoological Institute has revived. After leaving his microscope for several hours, Persikov suddenly noticed that the out-of-focus microscope produced a ray of red light; amoeba left under that light showed an impossibly increased rate of binary fission, reproducing at enormous speeds and demonstrating unusual aggression.
Later experiments with large cameras, to produce a larger ray, confirmed that the same increased speed of reproduction applied to other organisms, such as frogs, which evolved and produced a next generation within two days. Persikov's invention quickly becomes known to journalists, and eventually to foreign spies and to the GPU, the Soviet secret service. At the same time, the country is affected by an unknown disease in domesticated poultry, which results in a complete extinction of all chickens in the Soviet Russia, with the plague stopping at the borders of the country.
A sovkhoz manager Aleksandr Semenovich Rokk (whose name is also a pun on the novel's title, Rok meaning fate) receives an official permission to confiscate Persikov's

Since the chapters are released every month or so, I kinda forgot that this series existed, hence my late review. Buuut Buddha's fight (the 6th round in Ragnarok) is FINALLY over. I mean I like Buddha's character but this fight was probably my least favorite. The previous volume ended with the introduction of Hajun who replaced Zerofuku. He is apparently an experiment by Beelzebub and super dangerous (according to Hades). The fight between these two was better than the one between Zero and Buddha. I don't have much to say. Overall it was a good-ish book but I'm more excited about the next fight.
