Edgar Allan Poe Some authors should be definetely read in the source language and Edgar Allan Poe is one of them. As a translator, I’ve read him in both source and target language and you can’t get the same tension in the translated text. Being a pioneer in mystery and horror stories is enough reason to read him for gothics and grotesque lovers. Apart from the Tell-Tale Heart, I read Black Cat in source&target languages (others in solely source or target) and it is definetely a story to behold.n
