Charlotte Brontë is an English writer born in 1816. She is the eldest of the three( Charlotte Brontë, Emily Brontë, Anne Brontë), known for their works settled among the classics of English Literature. Her famous work" JANE EYRE" was published in 1847. The novel which tells about a love between two people of different classes in Victorian England realistically reflects the religious oppression, class division and male superiority in society. Considered as one of the first novels to claim women's freedom and rights, the novel is one of the most important examples of the romanticism movement. • Jane is a 10 year old orphan who lives with her uncle's family; her parents had died of typhus. The family ostracizes Jane. She is later sent to the austere Lowood Institution. In early adulthood, after several years as a student and then teacher at Lowood. She finds work as a governess at Thomfield Hall. Then she falls in love with Rochester. They decide to get married, but they get an obstacle and Jane goes through a very difficult period.

Eserdeki bu katmanlı anlatım, Nelly'nin Lackwood'a, Lackwood'un bize anlatması hoşuma giden noktalardandı.

THE ROLE OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY IN FRANKENSTEIN
Mary Shelley, who wrote Frankenstein, was the daughter of Mary Wollstonecraft, a famous women's rights activist, and William Godwin, a philosopher and political writer.

Religion is the Old Literature
Yesterday, I was searching for the first examples of English Literature which are composed in the Old English Period(450-1066); so I figured out that there is only 4. I have read Beowulf in my Literature Class at university. I guess it is a well-known and much trustworthy manuscript compared to this one. They both have lots of versions. I just could read the English translation, we may call it as Modern English, because; the original one is neither English nor German and indeed the author is unknown as it can be expected but it is known that the text belongs to Anglo-Saxon culture. It concludes 5 parts: Genesis A, Genesis B, Exodus, Daniel, Christ and Satan. These works are found in this Anglo-Saxon verse called as Junius 11. These works are written between the 7th and 10th Centuries. Some says Junius 11 is the poet Caedmon’s work; but most believe that these poems do not represent just one person. All the poems are mainly religious and I should confess that there is almost nothing different from the sayings of Muslims’ Holy Book Quran. From Adam to Abraham, from Nabuchadnazzar to Lot, Sarah and her infertility… the story is almost the same. So; you can just have a look if you are curious about anything related to this text.
