Broadly speaking, the human brain is a collection of software hacks compiled into a single, somehow-functional unit. Each “feature” was added as a random mutation that solved some specific problem to increase our odds of survival. In short, the human brain is a mess.
“İşte, geldim, buradayım, ama sen? Kafan nerede, gözlerin nerede?”
“Haklısın, kafam gerçekten karışık bu akşam. Aklım bir türlü gözden geçirip baskıya veremediğim kitabımda.
Salt Amerika ve İsrail’in çıkarları öyle gerektiriyor diye türlü genetik numaralarla Yahudi kimliği aşılanan Barzani’den sözederken, az ötede Sam Amca kılığına bürünen adamla, kendine Orhan Pamuk süsü veren adamın oturdukları masaya takılıyor gözüm; olmadık şeyler düşünüyo rum.”
“Neler mesela?..”
“Barzani’ye yaptıkları gibi, kimi yazarlara da Yahudi kimliği giydirmeye yeltenebilirler mi?”
“Nasıl yani?”
“Orhan Pamuk’un Beyaz Kale'sini çeviren Victoria Holbrook Yahudi. Benim Adım Kırmızı'yı yayımlayan Alfred A. Knopf Yahudi, Kara Kitap'ı basan Harcourt Yahudi, Yeni Hayat’ı İngilizce yayımlayan Random House Yahudi, Vintage Books Yahudi.”
In fact, adaptation is not a necessary component of genetic evolution. A population is evolving whenever its gene pool changes in the course of generations whether it be gradually or suddenly. (...)
Obviously random evolution cannot explain why land animals have legs, birds have wings and fish have fins. Yet a number of mechanism are now known to be operative in evolution besides natural selection, for instance genetic drift, random gene fixation, indirect selection due to genetic linkage and differential growth of organs.
Many of these factors help to randomize the effects of natural selection and to produce structures that may well be of no use. The problem is to determine the relative weight of all these processes in evolution.
"In random utility models the subject has a set of different potential utility functions (almost different selves), and only one of them is drawn every time she has to make a decision. This momentarily dominant utility decides the choice for period. Since utilities are different, the choices from the same set of options may be different in different times, although in every period the DM piks the best option."

“Ya o Snitch’i Malfoy’dan önce yakala, ya da denerken öl, Harry, çünkü bugün kazanmamız gerekiyor, kazanmalıyız.”
“Yani herhangi bir baskı yok, Harry,” dedi Fred, göz kırparak.
