Heart! We will forget him! You and I-tonight! You may forget the warmth he gave- I will forget the light! When you have done, pray tell me That I may straight begin! Haste! Lest while you're lagging I remember him!
Sistemin bizi kontrol etmesine, kim olduğumuzu belirlemesine izin vermemeliyiz. Sistemi yaratan biziz. [Haruki Murakami] - Jerusalem Prize Konuşması, 2009 - If there is a hard, high wall and an egg that breaks against it, no matter how right the wall or how wrong the egg, I will stand on the side of the egg. Why? Because each of us is an egg, a unique soul enclosed in a fragile egg. Each of us is confronting a high wall. The high wall is the system which forces us to do the things we would not ordinarily see fit to do as individuals . . . We are all human beings, individuals, fragile eggs. We have no hope against the wall: it's too high, too dark, too cold. To fight the wall, we must join our souls together for warmth, strength. We must not let the system control us -- create who we are. It is we who created the system. (çeviride hata varsa affola)

*Skye* TWENTY-THREE
Damian looked down at the waves rushing past our feet. “You know what we are, Skye?” I watched the foam gather around our legs as the waves receded, feeling the warmth seep out of me as Damian took his hand away. “We are sand that hasn’t been washed away yet,” he said.

I loved movies with happy endings when I was a kid. I mean, who doesn’t? The mushy, feel-good dialogue where everyone knows how to say exactly the right thing at exactly the right time, the warmth you get knowing that, for this one moment, happiness has found a way to be immortalized, the sunsets. Everyone loves a happy ending with a good sunset. But I eventually figured it out. Happy endings aren’t real.
chapter eleven **REN**2001**
She taught me not to be so narrow-minded, granting a fleeting chance to be a child again when such a novelty had been stolen from me. I often found my heart swelling with warmth for my young, tiny friend and cracking in pain knowing this life we shared couldn’t go on forever. She would eventually need more. She would eventually outgrow me.

"Therefore you may see a Turk better clad than armed. They are especially afraid of cold, and even in summer time wear three garments, of which the innermost one, or shirt, is woven of coarse thread and gives a great deal of warmth. For protection against cold and rain they are furnished with tents, in which each man is given just room enough for his body, so that one tent holds twenty-five or thirty Janissaries."
Chapter Nine
“I wanted to wear the wedding dress,” she whispered. “But I couldn’t reach it.” He glanced at the wedding gown hanging on the curtain rod. Yeah, she was definitely too short for that. “Do you want me to get it down for you?” A smile worked over her face, one of those mind-scrambling, breathtaking smiles that made her eyes greener. He’d caused that smile. The knowledge sent warmth melting through him, better than a big sweater fresh from the dryer. “Why are you smiling?” he asked. Her smile widened. “You didn’t laugh.” “Why would I?”
