Law of the Wolves
NOW this is the law of the jungle, as old and as true as the sky, And the wolf that shall keep it may prosper, but the wolf that shall break it must die.
"There is no reason to be troubled because we are absurd, is there? You know it really is true that we are absurd, that we are shallow, have bad habits, that we are bored, that we don't know how to look at things, that we can't understand, we are all like that, all of us, you, and I, and they!"

Weber himself treated ‘authority’ and ‘bureaucracy’ as ideal types. The importance of recognizing particular concepts as ideal types is that it underlines the fact that concepts are only analytical tools. For this reason, it is better to think of concepts or ideal types not as being ‘true’ or ‘false’, but merely as more or less ‘useful’.
Sayfa 6
"But it is no marvel for a foolish man to be maddened thus And saddled with sorrow by the sleights of women. For here on earth was Adam taken in by one, And Solomon by many such, and Samson likewise; Delilah dealt him his doom; and David, later still, Was blinded by Bathsheba, and badly suffered for it. Since these were troubled by their tricks, it would be true joy To love them but not believe them, if a lord could, For these were the finest of former times, most favoured by fortune Of all under the heavenly kingdom whose hearts were Abused; These four all fell to schemes Of women whom they used."
“Don’t you want to do something you love?” “Why?” she asks, like she genuinely doesn’t understand the appeal of loving something. “It’s a long life to spend doing something you’re only meh about,” I insist. She wrinkles her nose. “It’s even longer if you spend it chasing dreams that can never, ever come true.”
Of the Elves of Eregion
‘There is a wholesome air about Hollin. Much evil must befall a country before it wholly forgets the Elves, if once they dwelt there.’ ‘That is true,’ said Legolas. ‘But the Elves of this land were of a race strange to us of the silvan folk, and the trees and the grass do not now remember them. Only I hear the stones lament them: deep they delved us, fair they wrought us, high they builded us; but they are gone. They are gone. They sought the Havens long ago.’
